Well sort of... when we have a brand new, neer shot before model we do soft lighting and shadows and natural light. It's just something we do for a coupe reasons. If they are new, they want to see something pretty. Makes them feel good about what they are going. It's also easy... we don't dont have to set up lights and equipment. lol! Test shoot are a quick as we can get them done project. This works.

I know they are not the greatest shots, but they server the purpose before we REALLY start shooing them.

DUDE!!! If you arent going to use lights, at least use a bounce card, adjust the f-stop, or use an on camera flash. If you do use lights, don't mix them with daylight - it makes the whole shot yellow like the pictures that you posted last night. Sorry dude, nice chicks... we just wanna see em. :2 cents:

Listen... go up close to the model, get a light reading on her skin, manually adjust the appature to that setting, back away and shoot. That way you expose for the skin tones and the subject jumps out at you whilst the rest of the bacground and useless crap besides the subject - fades away.

Yeah... youre right.. great stuff! When we do test we shoot fast and on auto on our Nikon.. Since it's true amatuer stuff we can get away with alot of photo no. no's. Not that its a good thing, but our surfers tend ot be very forgiving and actually look for less then perfect photos to legitimize the girl as an amateur. Make sense? Not trying to justify the shitty photo work, but in our world.. less then perfect is a good thing. :)

Resizing a picture is not rock science man. Also, reducing the size of the picture tends to make things like camera shake, bad focus and other things that amateurs do when they shoot...not quite so noticable - thereby flattering the girl (making her look better) -
