I don't know how much I trust this Google page rank feature. They give Yahoo.com, the most trafficked site on the internet, a "9". Yet they give Google.com, THEMSELVES, a "10".

Hmmmmmmm...........

does it have to do with traffic?

And Microsoft is only a 9 while Apple is a 10. Conspiracy theories at their best.

dude a PR is not a gift... and they don't "give" it, the googlebot calculates it based on their secret algorithm.

Perhaps some places get counted off for popups and shit like that. I am sure Microsoft puts some popup for their software every once in a while.

Comparing the two sites, it's clear why Apple is ranked higher.

Pagerank has nothing to do with on-page content. It is a ranking of incoming links to a site.

yes, but they can tweek it. They do it all the time. Adult sites never get above PR7, that's an artificial ceiling that helps defeat adult site spam of mainstream terms (I think that's why).

Also, if you link to a PR0 site YOUR PR will drop. That's got to be a "special" algo.

I'm pretty sure they can tweek PR on a site-by-site basis.

Why fuck MS and Yahoo? Maybe because they are in direct competition with Google for the search market?
