Is another World War inevitable?

Is another World War inevitable? How will we get there, who will be the neo-Axis and the neo-Allies, when will it happen and how will it end?

Brown Bear 07-21-2003 05:20 AM

no

TDF 07-21-2003 05:22 AM

sure,why the fuck not

Mr.Fiction 07-21-2003 05:22 AM

The future is forever, another world war is inevitable.

Stop wasting time, let's get on with it!

Brown Bear 07-21-2003 05:26 AM

Jesus, the prophet and messiah, is alive and will return to the earth in the near future.

He will unite the muslims and the christians against the unbelief and will bring peace and happiness to the world.

Well overdue - get stuff back down to basics again - sadly it works.

Brown Bear 07-21-2003 05:28 AM

The Qur'an is definite in its assertion that Jesus is alive and that he will come back again to this world.

Our Prophet Mohammed, may God bless him and grant him peace, announced in great detail that Jesus would come back to the earth miraculously in the last days and bring peace, justice and happiness by uniting Christians and Muslims in a common religion and morality. This is God's great and wonderful promise and there is no doubt that it will be fulfilled.

There's this little island state in the south of Australia called Tasmania.

I am worried that the greenies down there are starting to amass biological weapons... shit have you seen the festy back of their Volkswagen Combi's ? There's enough mould and things growing to keep any weapons inspector busy!

Be warned, when you least expect it we will be besieged by radical Tasmanian tree huggers!

Yeah it will be muslim vs the rest of the world. Problem is there are so fucking many of them, and they will do anything to win.

Kimmykim 07-21-2003 07:31 AM

Define world war please Colin. With the advancements in technology since the last one, so many things have changed that I don't think there will ever be another like WW1 or WW2.

Strategic alliances are formed and broken all the time and Iraq was certainly more of a Vietnam or Korean style war, for the time it is lasting, than it was a WW2 type war --

Well the rest of the world does not need to fear as long as Israel exists...they beat the Muslims six times.

Rochard 07-21-2003 07:35 AM

Why is anyone talking world war?

The only way we have a world war is when the largest countries go to war with each other. Funny thing, but Russia - what's left of the motherland - hasn't been saying much, and China doesn't seem to give much of a crap about anything these days.

We need some more living space. Let's take it from France.

I was wondering if anyone would ask that. Should have known it would be you. I would go with the following; a war involving a number of the top world powers, irrespective of location, with some on each side.

The next question, of course, would be what defines a world power. A little fuzzy of course but I'd say being in the top 10 list of national GDP would be a good start.

I can see the planet uniting in a war against a hostile alien civilization possibly.

Also if anything happened to the USA in a catastrophic incident, which completely dibilitated our military or financial system, such as a meteor strike, a massive biowarfare or nuclear terrorist event, and then created a power imbalance, I'm sure some countries would take advantage of the situation.

Mostly, I see lots of regional conflicts.

The wild cards are of course North Korea and Taiwan, or in the very remote chance that renegade forces pull a coup in the Soviet Union and get control of the Nukes.

But mostly I see sunny skies ahead with some turbulence here and there.

LOL, I'm always busting out on those applecart wheels I think ;)

Would this be an extensive ground war like previous 'world wars' ? Or would this be reliant upon the latest technology in order to gain extensive victories over the 'enemy'? Would it have to last more than a certain length of time?

The length of time factor is one that in a world war situation I just don't see holding out. There are too many surgically precise, long distance ways of taking out the enemy well in advance of sending in ground troops that its just not viable in my mind.

I don't know that another "World War" is inevitable...and I don't know that another "World War" will take place on the scale of the Second World War...but I do believe that at some point in the future there will be a nuclear exchange...and very possibly sooner than later.

they will be another big war to kill millions of human because we are already more than 6 billions, there is no more place on this planet for all of us and we can't go on another planet, so bush and the gang will make a war start like they did before on WW1 and WW2.

Arabs over the last number of years havent been very good at organized combat. So they result to terroism, and that is hard to stop. They are just going to get bolder and bolder with their attacks.

Thats why it makes sense to put the noose around their neck right now and get radical muslim countries to be more moderate, and keep wmd out of their hands.

I think the other problem is that europe as a whole has shown over the years they just cant keep their backyard clean. (UK has been pretty good at not backing down from fights, but they cant do it on their own). If it were up to France and Germany they would be the world power and the usa would be weak. That wouldnt be a good thing for the world.

I see what you are saying. I don't know. I guess that's an answer to the question "What would happen"? I'd say it would depend on the nations involved, the objectives, the results, and many more factors.

Say that in the latter half of the 21st century, China/US enter in a war. If all the european and asian powers joined in and the war was brief (less than a year), would that be a world war? I don't know if it would be called such but I think that in spirit it would be - at least for this conversation ;-)

It's interesting the way we tend to think of the previous world wars. We often think World War II began with Germany's annexation of Austria and Czechoslovakia and the invasion of Poland but Japan and China were already at war by then.

Some nations never fought in the same theater as each other in the great wars. Others even switched sides mid-war.

Not sure on the definitions. I think there'll be another world war but not until at least after 2050.

Have you been outside? Everytime I fly see much more undeveloped land than developed. There's plenty of room for more than 6 billion people. Hell, I could fit 6 billion apartments in the grand canyon.

So you predict a world war beginning in the next 1-5 years and it will be started to reduce the population of the earth?

Yeah sooner or later there will be another world war. When? Who knows.

And you can bet the U.S. will be involved some how or another.
It seem the U.S. trives on conflects and war.

It's looking like the next big thing will be between Korea or Africa and the U.S.
