DVD to HD Ripper??
Have a pretty big DVD library. I want to put a couple on my laptop HD.. my dell eats through the battery when it has to spin the DVD drive. Want to watch a few for the plane ride to Florida.
Any ideas on a good dvd ripper and a good player? |
Like software to rip the dvds on say another computer and burn them so you can watch them on the laptop?

Yep try this one
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/vi..._decrypter.cfm DVD Decrypter and then I'd get the DVD Xpack that allows .VOB file playback on Windows Media Player http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/DVDXPack_Profile.jsp Those two should do it, you can rip the DVD into one large .VOB file and enjoy in flight. |
Maxima DVD Pro if you want to save to your HD.

ahh my way is to make them AVI files, so they are about 700mb, and play them that way, but the process takes alot longer then what you want to do. |
how long and what software?
|
So basically you want to rip the DVDs and sell them on Ebay?
|
DVDbackup and DVD Player work perfectly for doing this on the Mac.

We usually use DVD decryptor here. There is a trial version of Dr. DivX. (www.divx.com/divx/drdivx)
Also look to www.doom9.org. It is a site just about dvd-backup with all the downloads and the guides. |

this place will have all your walkthru and softwares you need.. ---- any of you guys know what's the fastest to transfer VOB's to AVI? I'm looking to see if there would be a fastest way for me to capture DVD movies and edit them with AVID.... I can rip the vob's in like 20 mins (instead of the 2 hour capture time of a 120 mins title) but is there a good way to transfer it to avi so I can import it with avid? |
