The Isley Brothers were WHITE?!
My family insist that the Isley Brothers were white. I say no way, and the only thing Google shows is black guys.
http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=isley+brothers Who is correct? I've never heard of white Isley Brothers before... maybe they're thinking of Simon & Garfunkel or some shit like that... :eek7 |
They are a white band in the style of The Allman Brothers. Great american rockers they were. Here's an early pic of them before they got rid of their sister. Back then they were just called The Isleys. I guess they didn't want to be lumped in with a girl like the Osmonds were.

Isleys = rockers? Just to clarify, I'm talking 60s/70s, the kind of thing old folks listen to. Bop bop doo wop, takin my baby to the cinema on a Saturday night, and all that shit. They say they have mp3s from white Isleys. I call bullshit. But we'll see tomorrow afternoon.
Unless they ARE talking about rock music, in which case... my folks... fucking shocking. :eek2 |

The only Isley Bros I know were as black as the Ace of Spades - biggest hits were 'This Old Heart of Mine' and 'Behind a Painted Smile' - released on Tamla/Motown.

I think some people might be confusing the "white" Isley brothers with The Righteous Brothers - they did "You've Lost That Loving Feeling".
The Isley Brothers are very black - ask R. Kelly |
Black. There career started back in the 50's and they are still cooking. Hendrix did a stint with them as well around the same time Jimi played with Little Richard who canned his ass because he was upstaging him.
There first big hit was "Shout." It's the party anthem from Animal House. You know...a little softer now...a little softer now...a little louder now...a little louder now...hey hey hey hey.... They also did Twist and Shout and then the Beatles made it a bigger hit. My fav..."It's your thing." Big Brother....jeez the kids these days... http://www.theisleybrothers.com/ Get down with your bad selfs! |
