Then you will need software like studio8 or windows medai maker or vegas which i really like. Good luck if ya need any help let me know i aint the best but i can get it on the puter TOM |
She will need a capture card of some type that accepts RCA jacks for video/audio.. most do so no real problem there.
Once she has that in her system, usually the capture card has sofware with it. She will put the Hi8 on playback mode (hook up the RCA cables from computer to camera), push play on the camera and the video will be shown in the capture program. Most likely the default will be a mpeg capture, if its a new capture card or device like the dazzler sold at most computer outlets .. like Comp USA, Best Buy etc. Then she will probably want to edit it, the software should do that as well. Feel free to ICQ me with any questions, I'm happy to help out. |
thanks ppl
exactly the info i needed |
But if it's a DIGITAL hi8 we're talking about there, those analog capture cards ain't going to work.
What you need is a program like Pinnacle's Studio 7 (or version 8) that allows you to transfer digital to analog on your computer. Just hook up the camcorder via a firewire and you're in business! (and of course you need a firewire card of some sort in your pc to hook into. Many of the newest machines have firewire connections already built in). |
i have other people transfer mine to dvd for about $10.
