what program that you use to compress MPEG ?
I USE xingmpeg encorder V2.20 at 384k/secBut video post told me that , the quality are poor.
Could you please give me an advise. Thanks a million in advance :) |
you people gotta start using DivX
I took a video I shot that was 63 MB as a raw MPEG, and with MPEG4 compression, the file size was 880K with no noticable or audible loss of quality :thumbsup DivX is going to be the next big codec ... it is already happening |
Cutecookie, long time no hear.. send me a ICQ your old one is not working.
I agree Divx is great, adjustable compression.. I use it with Virtual Dub. |
Do all of the common movie players ( Windows Media Player, Real Player. Quicktime, Winamp etc) play Divx out of the box?

Most people I know use TMPg. It's shareware and does one heck of a good job en coding mpegs. Now, if you want even better quality mpegs and are willing to put out a few bucks for the program, NOTHING beats Vegas Video by Sonic Foundy!:thumbsup |
they have a couple versions of the codec here, including a free add supported encoder
http://www.divx.com/ |
The Panasonic MPEGI & II encoders are probably the best arround http://www.pdn.co.jp/mpeg/index_e.html
I use it for all of our movies at http://www.skan-media.net |

Windows Media player et al don't support DivX out of the box, but you simply give your members a link to the free codecs, and then your video players will support it. I have tried many thrid party codec packs, and have found this one to be the best one BY FAR !!! http://doa2.host.sk/ (K-Lite Codec Pack 2.04) |
divx is cool, but I hate telling my members to DL new software. I rather use something that will work as soon as they get into the site
