Any import enthusiasts here?
Im looking at a 1996 Toyota MR2 Turbo (JDM)
I cant find any decent information on it anywhere. All I know is there arent to many of them around and they are fast. Someone has to know something about them! Thanks! |
My friend has a 1992 MR2 Turbo, kit and balls to walls.
These things are VERY rare. Googling it comes up with next to nothing. You have to be pretty serious if you want one. BIG money. Not worth it in my opinion...... |

Believe me, I understand what you're saying. But to buy a car like that to stand out... is it worth the money? I don't think it is.
I think your best bet is to give in and buy a Bimmer. :) |

Importing is risky business, porn is better.:1orglaugh |
Okay. You're right.
Find the car, buy it. Who cares if you know nothing about it. Oh yeah - and hook me up with one too. :1orglaugh Seriously. :thumbsup |

Mr2's are pretty groovy cars.
RWD, mid engined... 3sgte engine (2.0L DOHC, intercooled turbo) very strong engine, the turbo is the same as the Mk3 Supra but with double wastegates to better regulate boost on such a large turbo. Plenty of work you can do to them if you feel so inclined. |
like toyota.. but still addicted to nissan ;)
|
MR2 Turbo's are really nice cars.
It was Toyota's competetion Mitusbishi Eclipse GSX (whereas Supra Twin Turbo was competition for the 3000GT VR-4). |
Those cars (and Jap imports in general) are super common where I am (NZ) and they're definitely a good quick bit of kit. With the mid engine and RWD they tend to be a bit light in the front, so cornering in the wet can be a bit interesting. The engine bay is a bit cramped if you want to start bolting things on too.
