Q: Exploring Canada ...
To Canadians and those who've explored Canada.
Outside of the cities, what land opportunities are there? How beautiful is the countryside including the Yukon territories etc. ? It's a huge country yet no one seems to be an expert on it. |
It's all about the beaver.
|
its pretty nice here
I would personally recommend europe though :thumbsup |

Stay away from Manitoba.
Yukon is GORGOUS... but the weather is beasty in the winter. For the nicest climate and cheapest land - go to Vancouver Island. |
Manitoba is the place to go indeed! The ladies are wild and unhibited!
|
just dont go to saskatchewan
|

But if you like to hunt - this is the place to be. |
If you want to go as high as the Yukon, go on some sort of fishing trip up there, which is pretty cool, the Queen Charlottes are pretty awesome.

No sooner said than done, CNN posted the above article on the various reasons people are moving TO Canada. I'm just looking for a place to retire to where I can get a shitload of land ( 1,000 acres ) for the lowest price and can develope it to my specs. Didn't know Vancouver had cheap land. I like Vancouver. Food is GREAT! |
Is it true what that one lady said? Do they teach kids in school that America is the best country in the world and that everyone wants to move to the USA?
As far as exploring here is what my GF and I did. Get a car(or a uhaul in our case) start at one end and drive to the other.. We did it in 4 days, but spend your time and take a week or two.. Go all over, the prairies are pretty amazing.. Basically it is the two ends and the middle everything else is either a cement hole(Ontario), and then there is Manitoba and Alberta whcih for the most part are just so bla.. Quebec is fantastic, BC is probably one of the most beautiful breathtaking places in the world.. The kind of place that makes you gasp and say 'oh my god' about every 30 minutes.. And Sask. is just really cool.. So much open space, the grain elevators, it is just a totally different feel.. As for the Territories, I know people that have moved up there.. If you are into the Wilderness, and I mean REALLY INTO the wilderness, then go camping up there.. But besides trees there isn't much else up there.. Oh yea, also a tip, try to refrain from telling anyone that you are from the USA.. I know when I worked at a Gas Station way back in the day, the cars that came through with USA license plates would definitely be treated a lot differently.. A lot of 18-25 Canadians, especially in BC and Quebec really, and I mean REALLY don't like Americans. |

leave me with all the fucking virgin land, lakes and forests the rest of you can live in your overpopulated , polluted ant holes btw - a quarter section of land (640 acres) with a 1200 sq ft house can cost as low as 95k suckers :winkwink: |
