Bad Boys II - Take 2 Aspirin B4U Go

I still have a headache from sitting through 2 1/2 hours of nothing but the most unrealistically staged car chases with the audience enduring the perspective of view from the radiator grill.

That was the worst movie I've seen this year. The cinematography was horrendous, with all roller coaster style topsy turvy this way that way upside down neverending movement shots. It was like a nightmare LSD trip on your eyes.

Stupid ass story. Shitty casting. Even Will and Martin who I liked in the first one, looked like they were struggling with their lines to try and make this film funny.

Save your money and go see something else. It sucked royally.

any naked chicks in it?

MetaMan 07-19-2003 06:41 PM

go see pirates of the carrabien J Depp is the most creative actor alive.

KRL 07-19-2003 06:43 PM

Not one. Not even any decent looking girls. Zippo. No eye candy at all.

I was really disappointed cause the previews looked pretty good and they filmed that mansion that gets blown up just a couple miles from here.

Plus there was this idiot family that brought a 4 year old in with them and the kid was crying, jumping up and down, running around and everyone in the theatre was getting pissed off cause they weren't shutting the kid up.

it wasnt that bad. the movie was actually somewhat funny. the staged car chases were no worst than the matrix or t3. if you liked the first one you will probably like this one.

infectd 07-19-2003 07:07 PM

well i plan on seeing both and t3 :)

Ah come on, every other word was the N word or the F word. The script sucked. The minute I saw the Ku Klux Klan opening scene that went on and on I knew it was going to be a loser. The story was the typical lets catch the big bad Miami drug dealer and his crew of idiots.

The chase scene was ridiculous with the guy rolling cars off the car hauler and Will and Martin driving that Ferrari untouched the whole time despite debris everywhere, explosions, machine guns.

The actress that played Martin's sister as an undercover DEA agent was terrible.

Even the drug shit wasn't believable. $150 Million of Ecstasy in 3 coffins sent to the bottom of the ocean with James Bond style gear on it for retrieval?? No one moves Ecstasy in like that.

I think Edward Norton and Kevin Spacey have to be up there somewhere, but I do want to see Pirates. Looks like a good movie and I like both Depp and Bloom.

T3 ROCKED!!! It was alot more than special effects. The plot really kept you guessing and the ending... well, it was a nit of a shocker for me, for sure! Didn't exactly expect it. That was the biggest surprise ending I've seen in a while. DO NOT MISS THE END! :winkwink:

No movie is realsitic? Wow, thats a simplistic way to see it...

What about.. there's movies more realistic than others?

and some are pushing the envelope so far that it become completly ridiculous...

As for science-fictions... you also expect a certain logic to be followed.... especially in the storyline

Johnny Depp was awesome in Pirates of the Caribbean

buddyjuf 07-19-2003 10:20 PM

Pirates of the Caribbean was AMAZING :thumbsup

Donny 07-19-2003 10:51 PM

Do you see the glass as half full or half empty? Are you always negative?

This movie wasn't expected to be "realistic". Anyone expecting realistic car chases needs to watch "Cops" or something.

The movie was very good. Better than the first one.

phogirl69 07-20-2003 12:45 AM

At least the soundtrack is good.

I am really diggin the "Shake Your Tail Feather" song

let me see u take it off
girl go and take it off
we can even do it slow
take it where u wanna go
just take that ass to the floor
pop somethin, move somethin
shake ya tail feather

it's true, thank tim burton for putting him in everything

and then you better thank pee wee herman, who was inspired by "Frankenweenie" and hired Tim Burton for Pee Wees big adventure, which was Tims full length box office debut.

Exactly my point - Envelope was pushed too far. I love car chases when they're done well. But this movie pushed the edge of believability too far and filmed it in such an eye numbing perspective.

And then when the long one is over the Ferrari looks like it still came off the showroom floor and Will and Martin don't even have an ounce of sweat on them.

It was a lamer filmer.

I guess what really pissed me off is the time. 2 1/2 hours is a long time for a movie even when its good. When its bad its an eternity.

Parents who bring their kids and do nothing about them shuting up should be escorted outside and not to return. Christ get a baby sitter or bring enought junk food to keep the kid happy till the end of the movie.

BTW...people who talk during the movie should be shot! Not just comments, but full on conversations about other shit.

Yeh right. READ WHAT EVEN THE CRITICS ARE SAYING!

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/BadBoysII-1123937/

KRL 07-20-2003 02:17 AM

"An empty-headed bubble of testosterone that explodes in the viewer?s face, potentially scarring them for the duration of the film."
-- Joshua Tyler, FILM HOBBIT

"[H]aving Smith play the brash playboy who waves guns around and Lawrence as the responsible family man now feels like a deliberately perverse joke."
-- Luke Y. Thompson, NEW TIMES

"Seemingly endless."
-- Bob Strauss, LOS ANGELES DAILY NEWS

"This is a film that is so bad that it forces me to consider whether I might have been a bit hasty when I recently claimed that "Charlie?s Angels: Full Throttle" was one of the worst things ever produced by man."
-- Peter Sobczynski, CRITIC DOCTOR

"Just think: for a nominal fee of $7.50, you too can watch corpses ricocheting off Miami highways and crunching under tires."
-- Audrey Rock-Richardson, TOOELE TRANSCRIPT-BULLETIN (UTAH)

"You won't find chemistry better than this if you searched Tommy Lee's entire underwear drawer."
-- Mark Ramsey, MOVIEJUICE!

"Despite a brisk comic chemistry between Smith and Lawrence and enough vehicular destruction to send an insurance-claims adjuster to therapy, the film starts to seem even longer than its whopping 147 minutes."
-- Donald Munro, FRESNO BEE

"For the most part, it's 'close-up, close-up, explosion, bullet, crash, crash, close-up.'"
-- Eugene Novikov, FILM BLATHER

"Every last bone in its body is hateful, offensive, and sickening."
-- Dustin Putman, THEMOVIEBOY.COM

"Film's bombastic bad-boy Michael Bay mixes idiocy and pretension in a grotesque wreck of epic proportions."
-- James Rocchi, NETFLIX

"The latest collaboration between director Michael Bay and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, two filmmakers who bring out the worst in each other, is just as bloated and fatuous as their previous efforts."
-- Rene Rodriguez, MIAMI HERALD

"If you stay home from only one movie this summer, make it 'Bad Boys II.'"
-- James Sanford, KALAMAZOO GAZETTE

"A highly questionable 2 1/2 hours."
-- Jane Stevenson, JAM! MOVIES

"'Bad Boys II,' which is nothing more than tired formula, pure and simple, feels longer than 'Pearl Harbor.' And it's got a lot more explosions and violence than that World War II picture, too."
-- Frank Swietek, ONE GUY'S OPINION

"It would just be way too easy to hate Bad Boys 2. It would be too easy to say the excessive humor involving human cadavers is nauseating. It would be too easy to say that jokes at the expense of dead women are offensive."
-- Fred Topel, ABOUT.COM

"If Bad Boys II had a secondary title, it would be Hurl Harbor; it's that sickening."
-- Jeff Vice, DESERET NEWS, SALT LAKE CITY

"What's most enlightening about Bad Boys 2 is this: you'll never see a better example of filmmakers' contempt for their audience."
-- Scott Weinberg, EFILMCRITIC.COM

"No movie has pursued its own wretchedness with such ferocity."
-- Jeffrey Westhoff, NORTHWEST HERALD (CRYSTAL LAKE, IL)

"Bad Boys II is enough to make a young person feel old, and an old person stop going to the movies."
-- Chris Vognar, DALLAS MORNING NEWS

"The cinematic equivalent of toxic waste."
-- Peter Travers, ROLLING STONE

Take away its endless trail of bodies, and Bad Boys II is a stale, tedious, woefully acted movie that wastes the talents of Smith and proves once and for all that Lawrence has precious little talent at all."
-- Bill Muller, ARIZONA REPUBLIC

"A simple cop buddy movie extended to unconscionable length in order to accommodate redundant action scenes, endless banter between stars Martin Lawrence and Will Smith and several potential endings, this production suffers from serious overkill."
-- Todd McCarthy, VARIETY

"Basically the longest, the most expensive, most vulgar and by far the stupidest episode of Miami Vice ever"
-- Lou Lumenick, NEW YORK POST

"Black Hawk Down on laughing gas."
-- Glenn Lovell, SAN JOSE MERCURY NEWS

"A reptilian collage of seething that stands as possibly the most misanthropic, nihilistic, exploitative, hopeless film ever released as a mainstream blockbuster."
-- Walter Chaw, FILM FREAK CENTRAL

"Routinely blatantly nonsensical, the action is so plentiful, you'll feel like you've been grabbed by the back of the neck and dragged through the picture."
-- Ross Anthony, HOLLYWOOD REPORT CARD

"After viewing Bad Boys II I think the II in the title stands for II long, II loud, II dumb and II bad."
-- Bob Bloom, JOURNAL AND COURIER (LAFAYETTE, IN)

And I'll end with Roger Ebert's comments

"Everybody involved in this project needs to do some community service."
-- Roger Ebert, CHICAGO SUN-TIMES

i remember watching CB4 in the movie theaters when they first came out. 90 % of the theater happened to be black, 8% hispanic and 2% other. all through the movie there were people talking to the screen, smoking dope, and drinking 40's. it was something i never thought i would see watching a movie. so i took a puff and somehow managed to still enjoy the movie. just sharing an experience i had not agreeing with Martin Lawrence's theory that those of color feel the need to talk during the whole entire film.
