North and South Korea exchange fire

It is being reported that fire has been exchanged...by forces along the DMZ...but then again this has not been an uncommon event since the truce in 1953.

Thrawn$ 07-16-2003 06:16 PM

HEARTBREAKER 07-16-2003 06:18 PM

North and South Korea are separate entities.

What facts are you inquiring about?

Unfortunately not all Koreans agree with you.

Ah.. I like that sense of humor if that is what it is!

Do we rely on rumour that "that fire has been exchanged"??

A link please???? :glugglug

NetRodent 07-16-2003 06:30 PM

An axe murdering in the DMZ would be more news worthy.

It was just reported on TV a few minutes ago...so I doubt that there is a link yet. Loss of life was also reported.

Just a dispute over some Happy Meals... not exactly "news" in a DMZ.

I know someone who works in the US and encounters this kinda shit on a weekly basis - if not more often.

From your statement I assume that you are aware that an American military officer was chopped to death, with an axe, by a North Korean officer in the DMZ. An American Major if I recall correctly.

I assume you are aware of several cases where US forces have killed S Korean civilians, raped women and never ended up being processed thru the justice system there?

It is a cruel world where attempts are made by others to control things. The fact that it may have been a US major is irrelevant, - it is still another life lost.

Yes I am aware...and where warranted they were prosecuted by the military.

It has always been a cruel world and will continue to be so as long as the most agressive carnivorous animal in the history of the world continues to exist...homosapien.

North and South Korea are enemies. One is a Socialist Dictatorship and the other is a Democratic Republic. The Korean conflict is not over...there has only been a somewhat shaky truce since 1953. Since the truce there has been literally hundreds of incidents between the two nations...at sea...in the air and on the ground...with several incidents involving US forces.
