Ok...Ive seen some inteligent posts on this board. Heres a question for you guys.

Makes his money. I think hes genious. But how does he do it? Thinking of doing something like it myself if I can figure it out.

He makes money by having an assload of traffic. I don't know if he still does it, but originally I think all the stolen content probably helped.

Popups, rants that have sponsor plugs mixed in with them (when he bothers to update), a large percentage of the links go to a sponsor, content that keeps people coming back (again when he bothers to update) ... are we there yet?

stolen content and shitloads of traffic. Pretty simple.

im just wondering if the massive traffic he generates actually converts for his sponsors...

His site has just evolved into a giant porn advert, it wasnt always like that. Thats why people were there. I guess he got sick of having his bandwidth raped every month, back in the day, he was pretty good for his niche. Stupid white guy posting really stupid shit, it was indeed entertaining. But now you got guys like consumption junction that just refined the art.

Does stile have camwhores and is trying to make other smut sites?

I forgot to add - he got in when E/N was new. He's had 5 years to build a loyal following and brand name. To replicate that sort of success would probably be about as easy as creating a new thehun.net from scratch, starting from today.

traffic is traffic.

Now the traffic guys will come in and rant and rave about various kinds of traffic... and to a SMALL extent, it's true.... but in the end, traffic is traffic.... unless it's hitbot.

Then that answers my question

I think the $ from the traffic he sends them far outweighs the content he steals and his membership fees.

He also runs camwhores.com which makes a lot of money, He is well into the million per year range which is what one of his friends told me.

Looks like it's been removed, but globill once had a page showing the top 30 grossing sites per day. It included exact dollar amounts. Since he was consistently in that list it was quite easy to see his paysite sales. At the time the average yearly figure wasn't anywhere near $1m though, and that was for gross sales - no processing fees, affiliate payouts, partner shares etc.

As the only thing close to a competitor we've got in the E/N niche, I keep in pretty constant contact w/ Stile. He does convert pretty well. Certainly better than TGP traffic. But, as many have pointed out, his site is sliding into one big advert. The real compaint I hear from surfers is that you can't tell if you're clicking to content or another ad. Totally different model from what we do at CJTraffic.com. Our fans know exactly when they're clicking over to an ad and exactly what type of site they're going to. More targeted, thus, we achieve better conversions. Not knocking the guy at all. He's a much smaller operation (himself and part-time programmer) so his overhead is lower and the money he makes goes a long way for him. Overall, a good guy to work with and I've never once heard of him screwing a customer.
