He hasn't been talking to me much of late. He's had a girlfriend the past two months. He wouldn't talk to me about her. But I broke down his defenses Monday afternoon and put him on the IM couch.

Our hero came to the realization that sex workers, strippers and nude models don't tend to make for the most stable relationships.

I invite any and all of Dig420's ex-girlfriends to email me their thoughts on Dig. I will give them equal space for rejoinders.

DUC: I prefer to meet my women at places of worship
Dig420: the last thing I want is a girl with morals
DUC: I like my women real smart
Dig420: I do too, but I can't get the smart ones

DUC: anthony sounds like he's in pain
DUC: are you still going to gracie? Is it closer for you now?
Dig420: yeah it's closer, and I plan to make it a much bigger part of my life

Dig420: I don't think they do a lot of hand to hand fighting there
Dig420: and I don't know any bullet stopping secret techniques
Dig420: do you know anything about the Gracie family?
DUC: not really
Dig420: absolutely fascinating
Dig420: a whole multinational clan of pure warriors
Dig420: you should look into it sometime if you get bored
Dig420: they're like Bruce Lee, except they're real and they have real fights
Dig420: you've heard of UFC or Pride fighting, right?
DUC: yes
DUC: i've heard you mention them once or twice... :)
Dig420: the head of my school, Rorion Gracie, started the UFC to show the effectiveness of the Gracie style of Jiu-Jitsu
Dig420: Royce Gracie, his brother, defeated all comers for about 3 years until all other martial arts had to incorporate Gracie ground fighting techniques in order to compete
Dig420: Royce is about 170 lbs, and he was fighting huge monstrous tough guys and making them submit easily
DUC: amazing
DUC: there should be a book about them
Dig420: but the whole no-holds-barred fighting scene comes directly from the Gracie family, expressly to prove that their art works in real fights against all types of fighters
Dig420: there are a ton of books about them
Dig420: and a ton of web sites
Dig420: google them
Dig420: anyhow enough about fighting
Dig420: I'm not that tough so I shouldn't talk about it too much lol
DUC: how do you feel about the 1% chargebacks
Dig420: it's ok, we're below that anyway
DUC: I knew it on our first date, and i realized i would have to keep my emotions in check, because she was going to break my heart...
Dig420: I had an ex-girlfriend come visit and she answered the phone when my current gf called
Dig420: I think she did it on purpose
Dig420: yeah I'm the same way with the emotions
DUC: I always just say fine, I have nothing to say...and let her go...
Dig420: you can tell when there's heartbreak ahead
DUC: when there's no heartbreak ahead, it means a dull relationship, i've had those too.
DUC: We're attracted to women who can hurt us.
Dig420: I wouldn't mind that if I could stay interested in the girl
DUC: no possibility of hurt, no excitement
Dig420: but you're right, it's the dangerous ones who are attractive
DUC: I think it is the opposite way round
Dig420: either/or
DUC: The ones that attract us necessarily are dangerous to our hearts
Dig420: I hate emotional pain
DUC: if you don't love someone, you can't get hurt
Dig420: physical pain is fine
Dig420: I'm used to it
Dig420: but I CAN'T STAND getting my feelings hurt
Dig420: it makes me feel psychotic
Dig420: I think I'm just learning Jiu-Jitsu so that when I finally kill a girl who breaks my heart, I won't get abused in prison lol
DUC: all relationships have drama, all have pain, and insensitivity. nature of human condition.
Dig420: I dunno... I think if you have two people who have equal amounts of devotion to each other it reduces the drama greatly
Dig420: or at least it's an inconsequential amount of drama
Dig420: when you have one that loves far more than the other, that's where you're going to have some major, major pain
DUC: yes
Dig420: I just stopped returning phone calls from my gf
DUC: you broke up with her? I had a girlfriend who'd break up with me every month or two.
Dig420: I didn't even know we were in an exclusive relationship until she flew off the handle when my ex picked up the phone
Dig420: and she said since I was dating around, she would too
DUC: ouch
Dig420: and I said fine
DUC: and then it all went downhill
Dig420: but THEN she went out on a date and wouldn't pick up the phone all night
Dig420: and I just decided that this was a sign of great trouble ahead
DUC: yes
Dig420: I didn't mind her going on a date, it was just totally ignoring my calls all night that really hurt me
Dig420: I don't need that kind of pain in my life

DUC: youch, monogamy is easier on the psyche
Dig420: yeah
Dig420: dull, but safe
Dig420: I can just count my money and work on my art
DUC: why did your ex-gf come round
Dig420: she had just left her bf of two years because he was slapping her around
Dig420: and she was in San Diego, pretty close
Dig420: and she wanted to come over. I figured she could use a little fun and moral support
DUC: wise move on your part?
Dig420: I dunno
Dig420: it just seemed like the human thing to do, we still talk on the phone from time to time and we're not enemies
DUC: is your GF a big fan of my column?
Dig420: she reads the board, dunno about the index page
DUC: how long were you guys together?
DUC: was she a stripper? nude model?
