Dreamwaver MX is amazing

Damn that program is fucking great. I love the layers, it just makes it so easy. Can most browsers handle all that stuff?

I'm still using Dreamweaver 3, thats why I asked. I love dreamweaver, but I haven't seen any convincing reason to upgrade to MX yet.

less buggy (it kept crashing for me in earlier versions )

mx has more features
nice new layout (integrated workspace, shared withFlash MX and Fireworks MX)
shitload of Code Libraries
CSS2 support
alot more i cant remember :)

but if you just want to do simple stuff dreamweaver 3 should do the job fine.

BRISK 07-12-2003 11:10 PM

Dreamweaver 3 has never crashed on me once. Macromedia rules. They make good shit. :thumbsup

mx runs nice you should try it out

My only problem with Dreamweaver 3 is that it doesn't seem to function well if I'm trying to edit HTML files that have PHP in it, that seems to throw it off and skews the whole page from what it really is supposed to look like.

Have you ever tried editing a HTML page that has PHP code in Dreamweaver MX?

Hmmm....maybe I should fork over the $200 for upgrade. I don't code PHP myself, I get a guy to code it for me, but then when I put it in a page and look at it in Dreamweaver its all bunged up, even though it will look fine in IE.

I had big time crashing problems with vs3 MX has never crashed. The best part for me is how easy MX makes CSS.

Many surfers have browsers that can't handle the layers stuff... however, you can do some sort of conversion to it so they can handle it... but right now I just got back from the sex.com party and I'm too drunk to remember what to do...

Notepad hasn't crashed on me yet!

candyflip 07-12-2003 11:38 PM

The code editing is more robust. MX has the old Allare Homesite built in. :thumbsup

I've known HTML for years, but nobody can deny that Dreamweaver is way faster than notepad.
