I have a question for electronics pros
 

My TV has three settings: on, off, and standby.

When I turn my TV off, its really just on standby, not fully off.

But when it's on standby, even though the TV is off, I can hear sound coming from the speakers. It's really quiet, and it sounds like the radio. If I turn the TV fully off, the sound is not there. I don't know why this happens. Any theories?

maybe it's a sucky television?

No, I think it might be the coax cable that sucks. I've heard that if there isn't enough shielding, then radio signals can get into the line.

I might have to go out and buy some good coax, I'm just using the stuff that the cable installer left behind.
