Adult Check Gold Rules Changes

Saw this posted on their board. More AVS changes will probably follow.

In order to improve the quality of the AC Gold program and increase customer satisfaction, we will be making some significant changes to the requirements for new Gold submissions.

These changes will go into effect Monday, July 21, 2003. They will NOT be retroactive at the moment, so your old sites are safe. The changes are as follows:

Minimum # of images/videos

For image-only sites, 1000 images minimum.

For video sites, either a minimum of:

a) 100 images plus 30 minutes of video broken into 4 or more segments.
or
b) 100 images plus 60 minutes of video broken into 3 or fewer pieces.

Reciprocal links

All sites' members' areas must have a link back to the appropriate Gold link list category.

Other

New sites will be listed as "New" for 15 days after activation.

There are provisions in the new ASR to prevent content overuse. To qualify for Gold, content must either be exclusive or must come from a list of content providers who have been approved by the company and agreed to not oversell their content. Content providers who wish to be included in this list should email [email protected].

An ASR PDF must be faxed back for every site submission

The new ASR (which will become effective July 21) is available for review at:

Cool! Kudos to Adult Check.
I hope the individual sites have to start paying the Visa fee too!

Fuck man.....they change the rules for gold more often than newbies change hosts.

I'm trying to work out advantages of using AC these days. The overly anal and inconsistent reviewers have made it pretty pointless for a long while but the new rules look like they'll only have a handful left building sites. Maybe that's what they want.

If you have to fax proof of content ownership...that eliminates the huge number of people using stolen content. And since the content needs to be semi-exclusive or exclusive, that eliminates anyone trying to build a gold site for less than $500.

Faxing proof of ownership isn't new. They've required that faxed proof for over a year now. What is new is that you need to fax that sucker in with every new site you build and it has cute little check boxes for you to tell them that you've optimized your site for search engines etc. Like that's going to make it better for them.

Cyberage has no such nonsense and they're growing their business while AC is playing jerky-jerk for the last year.

[start spam] We still take 300 pic premium sites too. [/spam]

If you are a webmaster and do not have a fax machine, go buy one. I think you are going to be doing alot of faxing, ala adult check's agreement.

Who the hell want more sites in the system, clean out the non conforming ones, the rip offs, the abandoned ones. We dont need more sites, we need more customers:2 cents:

I agree but in the avs race today its a numbers game. Have you every checked through the link list 3 out of 10 sites are fucked up in one way or another

I have a fax machine but I hate messing with that shit. I usually fax from somewhere else. Grocery store or wherever I am that has a machine.

The customers for a start. Then there's the WM's who need to make a profit - well some of us do anyway. Sure clean the crap out but other than that what a daft statement. Having to have 1000 exlcusive pics as a min wont help your profits. It will help your BW though from the people accessing your site that haven't paid you.

Why do you need more customers in the system unless they're your own? AC make upsells on golds almost impossible as it is.

Bottom line though really is that there's other systems that are FAR easier to make money on from all revenue sources open to an AVS site. The only people welcoming the changes to AC are those who don't understand/use AVS and those too daft to realise there's other systems out there or understand how to make money from them.

sumphatpimp 07-12-2003 05:51 PM

I give them a year at most.

Been nice knowing you.

RIP

faxing forged documents around the country don't make sign-ups.

:1orglaugh

finding other viable billing solutions would actually help sign-ups.

with all the hassle with AVS you might as well do your own paysite now.
Just the quality of the site up and the sign-up price reasonable to keep the charge backs down.

What we do need is someone to come up with a card or debit account so a surfer can pay for his adult transactions that way and cut the credit card people and the C/B out of the picture.
Could be used to pay for online gambling too.

Now that is what we do need.
