New VISA impact on "FREE" AVS systems
Any thoughts on this issue? Sexkey? FreeAgeCard?
|
SexKey will run as usual. We will continue to offer free trials.
-Hank |
Thats great to hear Hank.
I wonder if the other FREE AVS's will also still be able to offer free trials? Such as: Freeagecard sexyavs freenetpass ? |
I'm really worried SexyAVS are about to throw the towel in as they owe me $4,000 and haven't replied to my emails asking to get paid for 10 days now.
Are any other SexyAVS webmasters not getting paid or is it just me? |

Now back to the topic.....My 2 cents thinks that avs sites are in the exact same boat as a paysite. |

False alarm, Sexy AVS have just paid me - woohoo! :) They must have just been busy these past couple of weeks (not surprising thanks to VISA) and thankfully my fears of them going under and not getting paid were nothing but paranoia. So please ignore my original post, they are good guys (you were right Bradshaw) and I'm a happy webmaster again :) |
Gooner is a paypal account and we have had nothing but trouble with paypal lately as they are constantly suspending our account..
Which is why we are dumping paypal as an option :) Chris Everyone is paid on time everytime, only issue we ever have is with foreign webmasters and mail delivery it seems.. |
Back to the thread..
Sexyavs will be still having free memberships and will be within the Visa requirements. Sexyavs will be also getting a new name to be more compliant :) Nakedpass will also be offering free memberships and remain a free AVS Chris |
When do you think SexyAVS will do this (get a new name, that is), and when do you think SexyAVS/NakedPass will change your sites. I've held off changing hundreds of sites until all this shakes out . . . .
|
Sultry,
Just use our java codes, by using those, we can change your join forms automatically. just watch the text you are using to promote your sites. The changes are being done currently.. We will email in about 2-3 days. Chris |
I am not up to date on these new Visa "regulations" ...
But it is appearing more and more to me ... that if you raise the "boundry to entrance" for a person who wishes to participate in the "adult industry" ... this is a form of "prohibition" ... its's like raising the cost to publish a magazine by "city" or "state" or "federal" licenses so high ... it forces people to go underground ... I am watching and researching this issue ... All AVS's everywhere seem to be in a state of "nervousness"... Something is "a foot" ... That is for sure. I am not sure yet whether it is good or bad. I assume you're not processing with Epoch?

Got this today from OneVerify, obviously the new Visa rules are having a profound impact on them.
Due to new rules and requirements established by the major credit card processing companies, OneVerify is requiring that all webmasters make the following changes to all sites on or before July 23rd, 2003: 1) Remove any reference to "AVS". This includes ""Adult Verification Service", "Age Verification Service", or "Access Verification System". This also includes any text indicating you use OneVerify to keep minors from accessing your site. 2) Remove any reference to "Free Memberships". This includes most uses of the word "Free" in association with OneVerify, as it can create a false impression. OneVerify will stop offering free memberships on July 23rd 2003, and is moving to a paid trial model. The Free With Tag Along program is being discontinued, as we are no longer offering free trials, and cannot use the word free in association with OneVerify 3) Remove any reference indicating that a OneVerify membership gives access to many sites. This includes phrases such as "participating sites" or "1000's of other sites". Suggested replacements for references to "sites" are "photo galleries", "video galleries", "content galleries", and "adult web pages" 4) Existing OneVerify signup scripts MUST be changed to reflect the first 3 changes above. You can find the new wording for OneVerify signup scripts either by generating new banners in the webmaster's lounge or find text for search and replace here: http://www.oneverify.com/webmasters/newtext.html After July 23rd, 2003 any sites not in compliance with the above changes will be removed from the OneVerify site list until the changes are complete. There is some good news coming out of all these changes; OneVerify will be raising payouts effective the August 1st - August 15th pay period. At that point, we will pay $20 per signup for sales made from Regular sites, $25 per signup for sales made from Premium sites, and $30 per signup for Direct Tour sales. If you have any questions or would like to make special arrangements for your sites, please email us at [email protected]. OneVerify Staff [email protected] FAQ hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha hahahahahahahahahaha Q: What will happen to my sites if I can't modify them to meet the new requirements on time? A: They will be removed from the OneVerify link list. Once you've updated them you will be able to resubmit them for approval. Once re-approved they will be placed on the OneVerify link list again. Q: If my site does not meet the new requirements, will I still be paid for sales? A: If your site does not meet the new requirements, you will be paid recurring sales initiated before the deadline. Per-signup sales will be credited once you bring your site in compliance and it is restored to the link list, as long as you do so before the end of the pay period on July 30th. Sites that remain out of compliance after July 30th will lose their sales for this period unless you contact [email protected] and make special arrangements. Q: I have many sites that I do not intend to bring into compliance. What should I do? A: Send an email to [email protected] listing the sites so we can mark them as permanently removed from the list and make arrangements for any per-signup sales. Q: If I can't promote access to thousands of sites or age verification, what can I promote to encourage surfers to buy memberships to OneVerify? A: Promote all the great features of OneVerify: the Searchable List of 1000's of pictures and videos and the 30+ MegaPaysites. OneVerify will continue to offer tons of content for a very reasonable price. Plus the surfer will always continue to have access to our search list for one year after they cancel their account with no additional charge. Q: Can I use the plural "Member's Areas" in my advertising? A: No, you may not use the plural form of Member's Area. OneVerify has only one Member's Area. Q: Why are you asking for these changes? A: There are several reasons, all of which are related to changes in the policies enacted by the major credit card companies regarding the AVS model. Credit card companies are seeking to disassociate themselves with the concept of verifying a surfer's age, as credit card ownership isn't a perfectly accurate way to verify age. In addition there are new regulations requiring registration of each separate Site, driven by the credit card companies' desire to have more accountability for site content, and the promises made on sites selling memberships. |

As noted above, OneVerify has decided to switch to a paid signup model, due in large part to the new Visa regulations, but also because our own research indicates that having a low cost trial does not significantly affect the conversion ratios. At one time, we offered free trials on our pay sites, and when we switched to $4.95 trials, our overall conversion ratio did not drop, and we maintained the same number of sales overall.
Offering a full year membership at $4.95 should convert well, and it enables us to pay our webmasters more - hence the $5 increase in payouts on OV, across the board. I suppose we could switch processors and keep the free signup model, but after looking over the numbers, we made the decision to switch to a paid model, instead. Our research and historical data indicate that our webmasters will make just as much money this way, if not more. |
A lot of sponsors experienced the same. Not much difference between "free" and micropayment model.

it why i asking you use Age Verification AVS
VISA rules dont make any effect for this AVS - because they process cards (as i know) in Europe so, c`mon, try this AVS - conversion and options really good BTW, my icq dead - only mail work |

That's some funny shit man. Think about it. Visa does not like the concept of a credit card being used as a verification of ones age, yet this AVS uses the very thing Visa is against in their domain name. Hmmmmmm. How many DAYS until this AVS is gone. Flow |
Pimplink,
We are switching our AVS back to ccbill to continue to use free trials.. But we have some major rule changes coming in order to remain within the 1% Visa limitation. Dont worry it will all come by email :) Chris |
Flow - 1% chargebacks - it different thing
but - it better then nothing. i know ouners of Age Verification about 4 years - and this is trusted guys - it why i working with they. Anyway - if something wrong happening im SURE what webmasters be paid full, even if payments be come from their oun pockets. it why i reccomend this AVS system. |

I case you missed it, most of the AVS systems out there are majorly under fire from visa. Visa does not believe that just because you have a credit card, you are legal to view porn. The former premise of AVS was to gain access to porn by providing a credit card to buy a membership and prove you are an adult, thus the term "Adult Verification System". Visa said this is no good so they went after them hard. Now we are left with AEN (Adult Entertainment Network) and to particiapate there are some major rule changes. One of the largest rule changes is the fact that you can no longer use the term AVS or Adult Verification System on your particiapating sites. The AVS you are promoting has a banned phrase in their domain name - - > Age Verification. This is a huge no-no as defined by Visa and thus my prediction that their days are numbered as you know them. Chances are that they will just rename themselves (like SexyAVS is doing) and continue along those lines. I just thought it was pretty fuckin funny that you were promoting an AVS that has it's days number. Flow |
why would I stick with an AVS who is offering a paid trial when I can promote sexkey with their free trial and still get the same $20 that I would have gotten promoting oneverify?
I don't know how sexkey did it, but they did and as of right now, you still have a chance to make money with AVS |
I believe they are making it a trial join for like $4.95 or something like that. Should not affect sales I think. Besides, One Verify sends way more traffic to their link list than Sex Key and Sex Key is notorious for taking away sales. I have never had a sale dissappear from and AVS other than Sex Key.
