paypal what the fuck??

This is disturbing..

I have this paypal account that has been suspended/frozen
for a while for bizar reasons.

After faxing documentation numerous times, calling them numerous times i finally managed after months to get it
activated.

A fucking miracle.

Since i received several payments during the time the account
was frozen i decided to transfer some cash from my pp account to my bank..

1k.

A few days later i received an email from paypal that, since a large
amount of money has been in my account for quite a while, they
would like to transfer the full amount to my bank instead of my
initial request of 1k.

I told them that was ok..

Today i received this:

----

Dear Blabla.

Thank you for contacting PayPal. We apologize for the delay in
responding to your service request.

Our records indicate that you have since received a payment on your
account on June 29, 2003. The funds will need to be held for 180 days.

I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us
again.

Sincerely,
Kathleen

Paypal fucks with a lot of people. I know people that had their account frozen for a while now and never got it unfrozen.

We probably need to start a 'paypal haters' sticky thread, the topic tends to popup almost every day ...

You didn't know? There are no people that work for paypal. Just computers. Call customer service. They don't even know how paypal works. Their business model is completely fucked. If it is worth the money, travel out to their corporate headquarters yourself. It isn't legal for any financial institution to hold your money for any period of time when you request a transfer of funds. If you don't take care of this soon it will disappear. Try suing PayPal. You can't... it just doesn't happen. You NEED to go out there... but I guess try your hand at the 1888 number or whatever it is first. Bitch about it. Threaten lawsuit. Get your shit together first -- if you have done any bullshit transactions you are fucked.

Our "case" is still being reviewed. To make myself feel a bit better I just keep e-mailing them :glugglug

"Dear Stephanie,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

Your account is in the review process, continuous email will not rush your
case, cases are worked by date received. Thank you for your patience.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,
PayPal Compliance Department"

Actually I heard he lost one of his arms in a bizarre accident involving his key board and a typewriter (one of those machines that writes directly to paper)

Walk into your local courthouse, spend 5 minutes and 30 bucks and sue em in small claims for the max amount or the amount owed.

Works like a charm.

They do as they want to, and I doubt any can stop them..

Call them! It makes things a lot faster. Dont expect any answers, but they can put things up for review a lot faster than normal or make notes to your account.

Calling them does nothing. I've called them MANY times in the last 2 days and all they say is "the complience department doesn't answer their calls, they're too busy etc.."
