I'm probally going to pick up a 15", 17" LCD it's for my local server computer.. and I need to deskspace ... I'm drooling over those new wide screen LCD's for my my main computer though :Graucho

I got my first Sony Trinitron in 1997, and that monitor is still higher quality than any LCD I've seen in person. I walk through Best Buy, CompUsa, CircuitCity, etc... and see those things, and I wonder why people spend the extra money on them. The quality just isn't there compared to high-end CRT's.

Another major problem the LCD's have is you must use them at high res. This becomes an issue with small screen sizes. A 15" LCD running at high res doesn't even save you any desk space. If you want to be able to read text, you have to move the thing a foot away from your face.

Yeah I always use the Trinitrons... I upgraded to this from a 19 inch trinitron, and man I just love the picture they give.. but the higher res is nice too :) mmmm..

I just want a Sun workstation to go with that monitor as well.. :Graucho

When I used CRT monitors, I loved my Trinitron. However, my Studio Display is only like 2" thick, so I will stick with LCD.

Well I paid 295 canadian for this one.. so that's what.. 200 American :) The exchange is sucking, our dollar is getting out of hand... but either way that's still a song, and it's got a warrenty too so.. hey, I'm definitely not complaining.

Strife 07-08-2003 10:15 AM
