I love the rain! I wanted it to rain all weekend, instead I got sweltering hot weather and it rained on Monday, and then I couldn't even stay home and enjoy it, the gods are not with me, they know what I do...

I adore the rain... I love standing out in it and feeling it wash over my skin..and that fresh air that assaults your nostrils as it cleans the dust off of everything.. The cool and refreshing feeling of rain is unlike anything, even the shower can't duplicate it.. I especially love the sound of rain through the leaves of the trees.. lots of trees like in the woods.. it's very calming.
Ok I'll stop now.. I love the rain. |

I used to love the rain.
It's not that I no longer love it...let me explain. I had been out having lunch with my father on a beautiful sunny day in Fort Worth, Texas. He dropped me off at my apartment downtown. I lived on the 4th floor of a 10 story building. I decided I would give my dog a haircut :) and had noticed there would be some thunderstorms that day. I thought that's cool, because I loved the relaxing sounds of some nice rain, along with some thunder in the backgroun. I turned some music on and about 10 minutes into the dog's haircut I hear the sirens going off. I thought..what the fuck. I called my dad because it didn't look so bad from my view of the eastern sky and he told me the sirens weren't going off on his side of town. The sirens stopped after about 1 minute or so, so I thought maybe it was the day they tested them. Anyway, I figured I would go outside to see what was going on, but halfway down the hall I thought to myself, NO I better get back inside and find out from the news. I walked back into my apartment, looked out my windows and saw the weirdest green sky in that I had ever seen in my life. I could see the winds were picking up, and things were swirling like they always did between the buildings, but something was telling me things were not kosher. I went into my bedroom to see if I could get a better view of things and that's when I noticed some guy from the office building across the street driving backwards away from my building. I then saw debris falling from the sky...I knew what the fuck was up then. Tornado. I turned to grab my dog, scared the shit out of him and he ran from me. I got to him picked him up and tucked him under my arm like a football. Got outside my apartment saw a neighbor coming up the hallway and told him..."get somewhere safe it's getting ugly outisde." He just smirked at me and went into his apartment which faced the west. As soon as his door shut, and I locked my door I started to hear windows explode. He cam running back out of his apartment and back down the hall...LOL I ran down the hall towards the inner stairwell. And it became the most surreal event of my life. As I ran past each neighbors door I could hear their windows explode as if the tornado was just tracking me. As soon as I got to the stairwell the tornado hit the building. Everything started to shake, and the stairwell filled with so much air that it was knocking me around inside. I ran down the stairs as it knocked me against the railings because I honestly thought maybe the building might not hold. I didn't want to get caught up in a collapse so I figured if I got tothe back loading dock I might be safe. But as I reached the bottom the tornado had passed. When I went out into the lobby I saw that all the windows were destroyed, water was raining down the mail chute. Outiside on the streets it was like a river of glass about 1-2 inches thick all around the building. I saw a pick up with it's cab almost sheared completely off as if someone opened it with a can opener. Anyway, it was a fairly small tornado, but it did some serious damage and kept me out of my apartment for about 6 months. So now when it starts to rain, well atleast when I experienced it in Fort Worth *rarely rains here in Vegas* I would get nervous. I already suffer from panic attacks and this didn't help...LOL. Here's a pic of the tornado. This is right before it hit my apartment building: It's just to the right and out of view of the pic. http://www.kenkuhl.com/tornado/twister.jpg This building is just 3 city blocks down the street from mine. It hit this one first as it sits overlooking the trinity. http://www.dallassky.com/Specia5.jpg It then hit the Bank One building which was about 1 block South East of me. http://www.fortwortharchitecture.com/bank1-t.jpg Anyway, now you can see why I used to love the rain ;) |
I love real rainstorms. Thunderstorms are so rare here, compared to home. They can be very therapeutic.

I like rain when it does actually rain here... I'm in Tucson and we haven't seen any rain in forever, and there has been a fire going on that has burnt 76,000 acres. So share the rain!

"It's raining, it's pouring,
the old man is snoring he knocked his cock on the end of the dock and he couldn't get it up in the mor-ning" I like rainy days. And there's nothing wilder than sex in a thunderstorm. |
The rain is fine when your roof doesnt leak and you have nowhere to go. When it rains here people lose all common sense while driving and there is hundreds of accidents. stupid californians.
|
I like sun :)

Raindrops splashing on my bold head :D to the sides. No need for an umbrella. A raincoat will do the trick. I love walking hands-free.
