He must be talking bout Busta's part where it started his solo carreer from,, " The Scenario"

Dax 07-07-2003 11:45 PM

Not enough people give Beastie Boys credit for pioneering hip hop,

Beastie Boys and Run DMC turned rap into the mainstream radio stations

Ditto.

I figured he was confusing The Scenario (remix) as a group song. But you can't go on living a hip hop lifestyle without knowing about The Leaders.

its exactly where it started from. his appearance on tribes album got him far more exposure then anything he ever did with leaders.

The Low End Theory - Scenario (tribe's 1st CD)
Release date: 09.24.91
Label: Jive Records
Distributor: BMG
Mono/Stereo: Stereo

A Future Without A Past... (leaders 1st album drops)
Release date: 06.14.91
Label: Elektra Entertainment
Distributor: WEA
Mono/Stereo: Stereo

3 months apart. Scenario was realeaed about the same time as future without a past as an EP. And If i do recall correctly, scenario video hit mtv and scenario single hit radio before anything leaders put out

The list goes for a while but i still think one of the best lines in rap history is from 50 cent how to rob on his old album that goes. I have dreams of fuckin an r&b bitch then i wake up early and bounce with all her shit. or I ran up on timberland and missy showed em the pound like you gimmie the cash you put the hot dog down. If you havent heard it. Go find it. The song is funnier than hell.

Strife 07-07-2003 11:55 PM

2 Live Crew - Me So Horny :thumbsup
Naughty By Nature - OPP

Good try, if you were in 2nd grade at the time say so and I will give you a pass.

Leaders had a couple songs buzzing before the Scenario Remix.

"Case Of The P. T. A." was on Yo MTV Raps (the only voice of hip hop on MTV at the time) non-stop in 1991 There was also a lead off single called "A Sobb Story" but it was only played by NY djs at the time.

-insert Scenario here. mid 1992 release. Late 1992 chart peak.

"What's Next" on Leaders second album picked up and blasted Busta off fully in 1993 which allowed him to sign his solo deal with Elektra records. This was also an MTV and BET video classic.

Dax 07-08-2003 12:09 AM
