Not big on Chardonnay's, but the right Reds are Tasty!

I drank a bottle of 1990 veuve cliquot 'le grande dame' rose champagne last night. Best champagne that has ever passed my lips.

If you want something more affordable, get a NV (non-vintage) champagne by Perrier-Jouet, Moet & Chandon, Bollinger, Taittinger, Roederer, Heisdeck, Billecart-Salmon, Pol Roger, Veuve Cliquot, or Pommery. All are around $25-$45 a bottle, and widely avalible.

I think maybe I should put the Wine down and go back to the nice refreshing taste of Sky Blue, my whole crew is always talking shit about Sky Blue's saying they are for women, but I don't give a shit, Sky Blue is my favorite drink...

I love Sky Blue....
Cold or Ice Cold...

It's GRRRRRRREAT

I might try Smirnoff Ice because I hear it tastes sorta like Sky Blue.....

Matter of fact I like Sprite Remix's because they almost taste like Sky Blue......

Ahhhh some of you might not understand me..
but then again think back to your youthful 20 year old time period..

I think the smirnoff ice is too sweet. Have you tried the Bacardi O? or Citrona? They are excellent to get the night started with. :-)

GeXus 07-07-2003 10:22 PM

finishing off a bottle as we speak of gossamer bay merlot, tastes real good... i think it was around $10

Platinum Lantern 07-07-2003 10:23 PM

Yea my big sister was telling me that Bacardi was even nicer than Sky Blue....

I'm going to have to make an order for that tomorrow...

titmowse 07-07-2003 10:32 PM

don't much care for french wine or white wine for that matter. i like italian reds. my favorite is a barolo

Cabernet Savignon is the best wine for your heart and arteries.
It has the highest concentrations of resveratrol which increases your good cholesterol levels (High Density Lipoproteins) and reduces production of bad LDL cholesterol.

Red wine is also high in other antioxidants called polyphenols that prevent cell damage from free radicals. Free radicals are unstable oxygen molecules that enter cells and damage DNA.
Quercitin is another health-protecting compound in red wine - it helps widen blood vessels and prevent blood clots.

Cheers!

If you arent on a downer about everything French then Chateauneuf du Pape is a very nice wine for a reasonable price. If you can pick up a 98 it goes down even better. Coudelet de Beaucastel is a superb Cotes du Rhone which cant call itself a Chateuneuf due to it being just outside the appellation boundary, but its a very nice drop.

Sneka 07-08-2003 04:50 AM

Moët et Chandon is a really good Champagne ! :thumbsup

Chris E 07-08-2003 04:52 AM

The bottle in front is a Harlan Estates meritage, not a cabernet (authough there is cabernet in it), and it goes for about $800 a bottle in good vintages. Anyone who'd drink it with stilton should be shot.

Maybe an aged english farmhouse cheddar or rack of lamb :glugglug

res 07-08-2003 04:59 AM

I prefer french red wine Lambrusko. Nice ! :glugglug

always funny to read what americans have to say bout wine and champagne :) i remember the first time i went to an american winemaker they served some glue-alike creamcheese with the "french style" wine, whatever that may be...

im glad i live in a country where a good wine (no matter where it comes from) is $10 a bottle and not $250 because someone 10.000 miles from here made a name famous. big names dont have to be great wines, youre just paying for the name. of course i like moet & chandon even been there but if youre drinking to enjoy and not to impress try some other champagnes or better try a champagne thats not a champagne (cant be a champagne if its not made within the champagne regio)...

try a champaignoise, same thing 10% of the price and sometimes even better. veuve amiot is the one i like.

oh and if you do wanna impress get a www.krug.com, winelovers will know youre an expert. they start at $200 here i reckon $500 at least in the us

Ice 07-08-2003 08:50 AM

Wolf Blass or Masi are two of my favs for red wine. Moet for champagne.

My friends call that poof's juice. I've been drinking it now for almost 3 years and its excellent. I never get sick of it or bagged up. I can drink it all night long without being sick or feeling unwell.....

I have never tasted this Sky Blue but Smrnoff Ice is good! :thumbsup
