the US is going through puberty, and this has caused it to become very aggressive, confused, and unsure about it's future.

it's hanging out with the wrong crowd

getting into trouble

pissing off it's parents (Europe)

stealing

wants to do drugs, but can't admit it to itself

if the US doesn't destroy itself, or end up in prison, it might grow up to be a normal functioning adult

the jury's still out though

the US is taking puberty pretty hard. and like all teenagers, is biting the hand that feeds it.

only time will tell if it will grow up to be a healthy adult and a useful member of society, or a runaway that ends up in desolation and living on the streets

It's an popular but somewhat odd view, Sarah, that America is a young country and European countries are old. In fact, America is one of the oldest nations in the world as far as maintaining it's basic form of government consistently over a long period of time.

A quick example. Though there have been Russians living in the land which we now call Russia for a very long time the country we call Russia is only little more than a decade old formerly being the USSR, of course. Many nations of the world have gone through similar dramatic changes but just didn't change their name.

I believe the US has the oldest written still-in-action constitution of any nation on earth and it's form of government was not interrupted by revolution, war, or socialist and communist ideals
which in one combination or another happened nearly everywhere else. The twin circumstances of tempered success and geography playing large roles in that.

One could point to England's common law constitution as older and I would agree. In fact, the US system of law and government grew straight from the English one. The English system has been remarkably stable.

There is nothing wrong with having opinions, but just because those of us who live in the U.S. and love our country respond with messages back doesn't mean we cannot take critique. If someone like Sarah actually had half a brain and came with legitimate claims and did it with some sort of tact, then I am sure others would respond in a similar fashion.

The United States is the king of the world, Flat out.....

US is the worlds consumer of goods and services, we have the largest spending power in the world.

US is also the worlds police. When the shit gets thick, were in there to straighten it all out. Good bad or ugly, we get the job done no matter how you slice it.

If you hate the United States, thats ok, You are allowed here to have your own voice to hate the United States and to disagree. Its one of the cornerstones that the US was founded upon.

Once eveyone understands that we are all on the same PLANET and gets along nicely, we can then truly achieve happiness.
