What video formats and compression?
 

I'm about to try my hand at editing 20 hours of video for a paysite. I'd like input on what compressions you use for your members area. I'm thinking of having 2 sizes available , one for broadband and one for dialups. I was also going to have just .mpeg's and not .wmv's . Would you have both formats, and what size would a 1 minute video be?

MPEG-1 (at least 700kb bitrate or higher)

Would that be for the dialups?

No, thats for broadband. It works out to about 6mb for every 1 minute of video.

What settings for dialups?

Would be slightly over 1 Mb for wmv and around 4.5 Mb for Mpeg
Same quality both ones
Also .mov would be around the same size then Wmv.
Dont use both mpeg and wmv but both wmv and .mov
