Hotel "Data Ports"
What exactly do you get when a hotel offers a modem data port. Is it just a dial tone or will it connect you directly?
|
A dial tone that gives you a 19.2K connection at best.

Never believe it when a hotel says they have high speed internet access, unless you know someone who has already been there and seen it. Most of the time it means they have one computer with DSL in the lobby. :)

If you're traveling (primarily in the US and some parts of Canada and other countries) check this site out...
http://www.wayport.net They work with many hotels and actually provide reliable high speed access. |
