this just pisses me off!
bought a fan yesterday. pretty nice one, one of the more expensive ones they had. it's a crazy thermostat-controlled black&decker silent fan... and it's actually pretty quiet. moves a shitload of air.
so i put the damn thing together, and get it running for a few minutes. verra nice. so, i toss it in the bedroom and let it run for probably 20 minutes or so. works fine, i was gonna leave so i shut it off. now the fucker doesn't run. motor's not locked up or anything, the power light comes on and all, but it just sits there. fuck them, i'm not taking it apart again. gonna haul it back in and let them fuck with it. maybe if the second one doesn't work i can sue b&d for lost time and mental anguish :Graucho |
maybe it has one of those power save buttons, check that out
|
Did you switch it on again immediately or was it later? Maybe it only starts moving air when the temp goes above a certain value...

of course, i bought it clear the fuck across town as well. damn it. probably just take it over in a little bit and let them sort it out. i'm tired of running my a/c all the fucking time.. bitch will probably break, then i'm up shit creek. |

it's got a thermo control, and i've played with that... when it's cranked all the way over it's supposed to basically override the switch. i shoulda got the electronic one with the remote and sleep sensor, but that's ghey, i'd rather have a quiet fan than a remote. |
I had the same problem just recentlywith a fan i bought a couple years ago. Damn thing wouldn't come on, thow the light was on. Didn't touch it for a few days. Tryed it again, and now its been working sense.
damn things :BangBang: |
i thought about busting out the angle cutters and soldering iron, but fuck it it's brand new and under warranty :(

Buy an air conditioner.
It's probably the fucking thermostat not telling it to turn on. It's a shame it's not like a car where you can just bolt on a clutchless fan with no thermostat. Wait, maybe you can. |
