i really want to move to San Diego (area)...

maybe not dead smack in the middle of town, but the general location.

i know tons of people out there, and am more or less well informed on the cost of living. etc. i live in michigan (born and raised) and am ready to move on. it would be sweet to actually have face to face contact with more webmasters as opposed to email/icq.

what i really want to see is pics of the area, beaches etc. got any to post? or horror/highlight stories to share with me?

jesus, they had better have an Imax theater out there.

Sly_RJ 07-06-2003 11:32 AM

The first night I moved here (from Iowa), someone 2 blocks away from me was stabbed and murdered. Haha. Was great!

I think there's an IMax somewhere downtown, but I'm really not sure.

angelsofporn 07-06-2003 11:34 AM

ya...imax is in balboa park

LaurieX 07-06-2003 11:34 AM

I would highly suggest moving here. It is expensive but worth every penny. I moved here a year ago from the east coast. It was the best decision I ever made. The weather is great the people are nice and there is ALWAYS somthing to do here. And yes we have an Imax theatre. I have tons of pictures. Contact me and I'll show you.:)

CrazyNakedChick 07-06-2003 11:36 AM

sly: hahaha, i grew up off and on near detroit. :winkwink:

how long have you been living there? i am curious as to the general weather situation. on any given day what can i expect temp and humidity wise?

here, summer means 90 degrees and 80-100% humidity. i fucking hate it. i can deal with the temps, it's the muggy bullshit that drives me nuts.

no pun intended.

CrazyNakedChick 07-06-2003 11:37 AM

IMAX KICKS MY ASS.

awesome, i need to come out there for a month and do some site seeing.

Sly_RJ 07-06-2003 11:38 AM

Michigan is like Iowa if I'm not mistaken. You'll LOVE the weather here. I moved out 2 years ago, I don't miss the mid-west humidity at all.

Find me on ICQ: 147479144

CrazyNakedChick 07-06-2003 11:42 AM

broadband is pretty wide spread in the general location?

I know someone who used to live in SanDog and he wants to go back he loved it so much-so I know you'll love the weather coming from a cold place.

This is the neighborhood I live in, which is where everything happens. Pacific Beach is the location and yes you can get broadband here np.

That area (generally, of course there are "hood areas" like Logan Heights) has a reputation for being quite expensive.

thanks for the link, man that water looks sweet.

vegas: believe it or not i dig the snow, lots of winter sports here to keep me busy and happy. my socal friends tell me snow is a few hours drive away which is another big selling point for me.

I live on Mission Bay and can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else. The weather anywhere near the coast is mild all year round and hardly varies much. If you live inland 15+ miles it will be hotter in the summer and colder in the winter. The imax theater is great here www.rhfleet.org Tons of things to do and lots of great restaurants and nightlife. There's many options on broadband, I just got wireless for my laptop at www.ricochet.com

SD is GREAT.... lived there before moving out here, and it would be the city i moved back to if i ever wanted to leave paradise =)

CrazyNakedChick 07-06-2003 11:58 AM

ok, so you guys are making this place sound like Heaven on Earth.

TurboTrucker 07-06-2003 12:22 PM

It's cloudy, cold, and old. But being from Michigan it will probably be warm to you.

CrazyNakedChick 07-06-2003 12:25 PM

3 months out of the year it's so hot here i can hardly breath, the humidity is what kills me. i want dry/mild. i can even tolerate 100+ as long as the muggy level is low.

no, that's in thailand, but if you wanna be in the USA and deal with snobby chicks, overpriciness, and everyday stress, SD is the place to be =)

TurboTrucker 07-06-2003 12:30 PM

San Diego is fairly humid. I like Phoenix because it's really dry, like they say it's a dry heat and that really makes a difference.

Like right now San Diego is 60% humidity, Phoenix is 20%

I grew up in Tempe and yeah I could at least stand the heat because its dry, but San Diego's humidity isn't much at all. Wait till monsoons hit Phx in Aug and its 110 with 80 humidity and you'll be coming over to SD with all the other zonies to get out of that.

Haha, if you call the SD lifestyle stressful then you must have extreme high blood pressure. I agree real estate is overpriced, but once you own something you get a nice return on your investment. There's enough chicks here to weed out the snobs and still find some down to earth hotties.

TheGoldenChild 07-06-2003 08:59 PM

this is where I live :-))

I love it and will never move back to OHIO NEVER EVER EVER!
