I was playing 7 card stud hi/low... that game is fun at lower limits :) but at higher limits... man. Different caliber of players.

i'm going to admit something here.

i was once a serious gambler. played all the time in casinos from when i was 18 - till about 24-25 (high limits blackjack). i counted cards. then i started making it big (in my definition) on the internet, and got bored of gambling. i still go to a casino once in awhile with friends, but all i do is sip a beer and look at the poor souls addicted to it.

no judgement here *at all*, but i do find it sort of cathartic to watch others play...

And you won. People never believe me when I tell them that. I don't count cards when I play blackjack but I damn sure know how to play right every time and walk away a winner. I got addicted to this holdem and studied up on it. I dropped $100 in a couple of weeks ago and I win a few hundred a day goofing off. I think I'm going to start doing this more than porn. It's a blast.

Yeah my uncles a big gambler. I grew up around casinos... for some odd reason the guys at the craps table would let me play with my uncle there when I was about 12 and on... I guess the laws were a little looser back then or something.

Still, the early exposure to casinos like that didn't help me much. Now I'm reformed. I might occassionally burn $100 once in a blue moon, but I know when to give it up :)

I wasn't around casino's at all growing up but I was always fascinated with them. I got ceasars palace when I was like 10 on my Sega and got up to a million bucks on a craps strategy I came up with. I've always been a numbers cruncher and gambling fits me perfect. I started with blackjack when I turned 21 and have won a fair amount. They have casino's here and just added poker recently. I got on the casino to play stud but I watched a holdem tournament on TV and fell in love with it. I read up on it a bit and I've been kicking ass ever since. I'm seriously thinking about trying to go pro but I have to study hard on the no limit game first.

Yeah knowing how to play the game logically is only half the battle... if that.

true. another admission, i bought my first *new* car with blackjack winnings. crazy. and now i'm pretty much revolted by gambling (on a personal level). yet still facinated...

I'm pretty sure that no matter what game your playing, the higher the stakes go up, the more the game changes. Even for games like BJ, Craps, Slots (blech) - where you aren't playing vs skill of another player(s).

It's always better to have the cash and do something real with it :)

Yeah watching those big nolimit games is pretty exciting in itself.
Not quite the same when its online vs real life though.
