Whats the best length for vids on a paysite?

What works best for you? What length and formats?

on a paysite I would go with 2 to 3 minutes a clip, and offer multiple formats . . . in this order: .wmv, .mpg, .rp

How about the full length. The fucking people are paying for the shit, so give them something worthwhile so they sign up for another site in the future instead of feeling like they got ass raped by paying for shit they could get for free anyway.

I found with my members the ones with broadband like full length versions, dialup like 4 to 6 min clips I just put a poll up I had a surfer wanted me to have it so they can download them like in zip formate *shrugs*

Both valid thoughts. I could do both. Have smaller clips organized by theme like blowjob shots, cumshots, striptease shots, anal sex shots. The have full length "clips" as well. Give em options ya know. Thanks again Baddog and Overscore.

Exactly..maybe 5 minutes at least.You won't get to many resigns with short 20 second clips that can be found on any free site

Listen to everyone and do both. Chunks of 2-5 minutes and the whole finished product for broadband users. I also prefer Windows Media over Real or AVI. Just personal preference, no real technical opinion.

I have a full length version and have it split up into multiple 3-4 minute clips. I also encode it in 3 bitrates: dialup/med/hi wmv format.

Takes some extra space and some extra work but oh well.:)

okay, I said 2/3 minutes per clip, not 20 seconds, and I still meant to show the full movie but break it down into managable sizes so the people with dial up (a majority of the people out there) don't end up locking up your servers to the point that no one can d/l anything.

I have been there, I have seen what happens. Of course, your b/w bill will drop significantly when no one can access the server. That is the one upside. :1orglaugh

No way would I ever go over 5 min a clip, and for sure, give then at least 2 minutes a clip. The best way, is to cut the movie up by scene. Some will be longer than others and if a 10 minute scene, cut it into two 5 minute clips.

Would stay with .wmv and .mpg at least since most people can view then without having to fetch codecs, which will be required with .avi

Real Player, I hate.

Another option not enough people appreciate is QT. Their quality has gotten good enough that I will even mention their name in a thread, and would never do that a few years ago. :thumbsup
