lil2rich way right click "save as" and decipher it.

I would do certain things in front page 98, then click on the view html tab and stick the code into notepad (cause fp fucked it all up). Eventually I just started remembering it all :)

salo18 07-05-2003 05:25 PM

From a book, I think its good to know HTML even if you use a wysiwyg program...

like I have learned every language I know/knew since 1978. Gimme a project and I'll make it happen. Sure I took many courses in programming, but none of them applied to the real world. For that there is only one teacher - reality.

Viewing sources on pages, learning the code that way, mixing and matching etc code.. Never used anything but notepad.

Mr.Fiction 07-05-2003 05:33 PM

I don't remember how I learned, but it wasn't from a book or class.

Same here mostly, then I picked up Laura Lemay's "Learn HTML Programming in 21 Days" (I think I got the title/author right) and fleshed out my knowlege from there. Used a nifty little Swiss text editor for a while (can't recall the name), and now I'm hooked on UltraEdit.

I {heart} my nifty little spiral-bound HTML reference guide. Wish they'd make one for CSS.

I learned HTML in 1996, by looking at pages that had the code I wanted to use. I made my first website in SimpleText on my old Mac.

Carry-over from coding bookmaster documents twenty some-odd years ago. Worst sweat-shop job I ever had.

Damn, I'm old. :(
