There must have been made a file in some directory. Check out regedit

Yes, I have searched in regedit, and in all files and I havn't found that url anywhere.

For some of these scumware things, there doesn't seem to be a program that will rid you of it. The only solution I've found so far is: I have "Go-Back" installed on my machine, it came bundled with Norton Utilities 2003. Thank GOD I installed the Go-Back program 6 months ago. I was able to take my computer back to a time before it was infected...... BAM, no more scumware.

I know certain OS like Windows ME has a "system restore" function built into it that acts the same way as Go-Back. If you have a way to "take your system back a few days" to a time when your computer was working right, try that.

To paraphrase, find "winshow.cfg" and "dict.dat" in your windows directory, open them, delete the text and save the files. Then delete everything in windows/temp and reboot.

I just searched my C:\WINDOWS, I seem to have neither of those files. I have ME.

Have you cleared the infection by reverting to an earlier date? I have never been infected with this personally, but I helped someone with it a few days ago, using the method above.

Thanks. Worked perfect. Finally that shit is gone ;)

Yes, I fixed my troubles a few weeks ago by using the "go-back" method I posted above. I was just looking for those two files for future reference, just in case it happens again.

I'll likely just set my "Go-Back" to take me back 15 minutes prior and that should work if it ever happens again though, but it's nice to know a few extra options just in case.
