Anyone ever play in the play-money tournaments at PartyPoker.com?
 

Yes, I tried their support people and can't get ahold of anyone.

I've been kicking ass in the 7 card stud hi-lo and No Limit Hold'em play money tournaments. I have about half a dozen 1st place finishes and a couple of 2nd and third place finishes (single table) but no play money ever gets credited to me after I win. It says "You've won first place, 200 play money chips will be credited to your account" but it is lying.

I want to play in some of the $50/$5 real money tournaments but I am not even getting credited for the play money wins. Is this normal? Do they ever actually pay out the play money tournament winnings?

Never played for fake money but the real money ones add your winnings instantly.

Man i played at poker party.com, all i can say is i think its fixed. Really, I would get like a streight flush, INCREDIBLE hand! and then some person (i beleive to be a bot) gets a royal flush, wtf is that shit man.. Or i would get like 3 7s and then this person (bot) would get 3 8s.. it was complete bs..

I did ok on partypoker tournaments but never really messed with regular tables. I'm way up on pacific poker though.

FYI I started on nickel tables 2 weeks ago. Now I play whatever I want.

I also agree with the part about wanting to see the people I am playing. At first it was very weird playing against avatars and not being able to see reactions and not being able to use my body language to play. That's why I have been playing in the play money rooms. Now I feel like I have a handle on playing online and I want to play for real money but if their system is all fucked up and their support won't even get back to me they can forget seeing so much as one dime from me.

That's the nature of poker, of course. Everyone gets bad beats now and then. I've had that happen to me plenty on PartyPoker.com in the last week but I've also been able to read my opponents well enough to take pots from them with a pair of fours or an ace high. I don't think the game is fixed, I think it's just harder to know how strong your hand really is when you're playing against avatars on a screen. It's especially tough when the table is fresh and you are facing 8 or 10 people. You get used to it, though.

How far up is "way up"? I am checking out PacificPoker right now and I don't like the software but I am kicking serious ass. I sat down at a practice table with $1,000 in play money 10 minutes ago and I am over $2,000 already.

I started gambling there just for fun and I lost $20 2 or 3 times but I never played holdem with any understanding of the game. Well after I caught a tourney on TV I picked up the basics and deposited $100. I was going up and down in big waves just playing the game how I wanted to. I kept reading about these people that never lost when the got in a pot so I started studying the odds, strategies, etc. I've been playing my refined game for about a week and a half and I'm up to $1900. I'm seriously going to try to make a living off of it and am considering trying to go pro.

As for partypoker support, They have a live support button on the casino in real money so I don't know if they do on play money. I always get an operator asap.

$1,900's not bad for a beginner to make in a week or two :) I really didn't like PacificPoker, though. Do they have single-table tournaments the way PartyPoker does?

PartyPoker have a "24 hour support" thing in the play money area but it doesn't work right for me. I don't see why they can't answer one simple email in over 24 hours.

No tournaments and no no limit. Just limit poker. After I refined my game I made $500 in one night and $300 the next. I've been playing less lately with the 4th and all but I still do over $100 a day on small tables. I'm about to be doing it full time. :glugglug

Not bad :) I like no limit Hold'em but my game is really seven card stud hi-lo. I only played a couple of no limit tournaments but I won both. I almost always place in the stud and stud hi-lo tournaments but today I came in 4th or worse four times in a row. If PartyPoker had a bad beat jackpot, I would have won it hands down. I had a jacks full and an ace-high flush both cracked today.

Have you cashed any money out from PacificPoker, yet?

No cashouts yet but my partner has pulled around $500 out of his account. It takes 5 days to hit neteller and 1 day to hit the bank from there. Party poker is shorter and if you do their verification process your money will hit neteller the same day usually.
