Keep in mind he was just looking at the pictures. Production and distribution should be the more serious crimes. Still, that is a pretty weak sentence.

Shit, people have gotten greater sentances than that for carrying pot for christ's sake. The fucker should be put away for a long time. I hope he is buggerised several times a day during his 6 month stay.

The child protection unit at Scotland Yard handled the case. The chief Inspector told me that when they find an owner kiddie porn they find someone who fantasises about doing it and probably has.

Even if we were to agree this sentence is light, anyone idiot can see there is a huge difference between producing and viewing.

In one case you are hurting kids, in another, you are looking at pictures of someone hurting kids.

Both are wrong, but they are magnitudes apart on the crime scale.

well i see it a bit differently.... if someone subscribed to a paysite that in turned commissioned the production of new materials then they are just as guilty as the producer of the original materials

Sometimes I will comment when someone on here will show a girl who I think *looks* under-18. In those cases, I am generally not talking about the legality or morality of using pictures of her. My comments that I would "stay away" are usually a matter of thinking that no webmaster will want the hassle of getting *accused* of child porn, something that has very little to do with the actual age of the models.

Also, who says I was taking this lightly? Everyone knows child porn is horrible. The post and article were from on perspective... To just post and say "I agree totally" would be silly. I tried to add something to the discussion. Doesn't mean I like the guy, or think he didn't deserve a tougher sentence.
