interest rates in canada should be dropping which means a weaker dollar. they jumped the gun on the interest rate hikes and it bit them in the ass.

ok, im slow.. so tell me where i go wrong with this thought process

interest goes down, ppl spend more, ask for more CAD, increase demand, increase price due to supply..

Higher interest rate means less investment into the country, which means our dollar is worth less.

I could be wrong on this but this is how i think it works. Talk to and investment banker if you want the full details of it from a reliable source

thats the main reason. the american economy may also outpace canada in the 2nd half. that should help weaken our currency. which would be great because we need exports to pick up. plus i wanna make more money :)

For me it isnt so much about making money as it is about losing money. the 10% increase in our dollar means i now have 10% less money saved (since it is all kept in USD) and converted on a AS NEEDED basis.

How i long for those days where i could convert 1 USD for 1.50-1.60 CDN.

As for the american Econ., i dont know about that.. they just reported their highest unemployment rate in about 9 years... that doesnt look too good for them right now :(
