My grandmother.

As a scientist, she created some of the best-tasting dinners I've ever had from everyday ingredients.
As a musician or singer she wasn't much, but she sure knew the best music to play when we were flying down the road in her Nova with the windows rolled down and the speedometer pegged (she used to race Novas and owned one 'till the day she died).
As an actress, she should've won a Hollywood award for living with her beating, alcoholic husband of hers as long as she did and she always managed to act like everything was finewith the world when I was around - even when she'd just been beaten up or had a gun held to her head the night before.
As a politician, the lady stepped in and mediated many a time when I should've gotten my butt whipped by my parents, and even worked in a treat or getting to stay up late most times.

That woman deserved a much better life than what she got - I'd give almost anything to bring her back.
