got a family full of military vets but i don't think i ever possessed the drive to take it seriously. at one point i was considering joining the air force academy to pursue astronautism, but that was short-lived.

I know someone (FC2) who was from June of 95 to Jan of 98. USS Deyo DD-989 (his home command). Oh, and he was TDY for about six months (DD-977).

At least that's what he claims.

wow, you guys had to pull out when you were close enough to Luanda to hit them with a catapult. That must have sucked. I spent most of my time being eaten by the Okavango mosquitos :).

USN 83 till 89. Lot's of guys here are ex-squids, I was on DD980 the USS Moosbrugger. Did 4 years on the boat then 2 years here in Orlando at the RTC back when female boot camp was here. What ships were you guys on?

Yeah we were very close and were just waiting for group Orange to get across their bridge and we would have been on our way. Unfortunately Russia threatened to send in forces and Jimmy Carter decided to rather ask us to pull back :(
