How long did your rackshack ticket take?
I have a weird problem with my rackshack server, about 48 hours ago the MRTG graphs suddenly dived down to 1.2Mbit/sec outbound, almost totally flat like it was capped. I haven't been able to send above that rate since. I've done some experiments with shifting surfers on and off that server to confirm that it's a real issue, not just a funny MRTG stats problem. If I use the rackshack server for my TGP images, my prod dives from 230% down to 150% or worse - because it's loading so shit slow. If I switch them over to my other server, the load increases by about 1.5Mbit/sec... so the rackshack server should really be doing 2.7Mbit/sec out, not choking at 1.2Mbit/sec out.
The real issue here is the time it is taking to resolve. I reported it a day and a half ago, and the best response I've had so far is "our network team need to look at it, it may be a while, you will not be charged for any bandwidth you are not responsible for." (hello, not charged for extra bandwidth? I can't use enough!!!) They can't define how long "a while" is. How long have rackshack taken to response to YOUR support tickets, and resolve the problem? :) |

Yeah, I should have said "a weird problem related my server" ... it's not on the server itself, it's some sort of network problem. Check out the MRTG graph to see what I'm talking about...

If you wanna test it with another 100MBit mashine located @RS or in Germany with a 500MB file or so hit me up,then you can see how fast your server can really go...

Ticket has been open for 33 hours now, and the issue hasn't even been passed to the network people. I've asked them for a partial refund.

RackShack is notorious for shitty support, pay alittle more and get better quality!
