it's free advertising...that's how it makes sense. If you own a message board, especially gfy, you want to charge for any kind of promotion.

This is how it works in radio. Makes sense to me.

If you own the message board you earn money selling banner impressions, a thread with 500 replies is a lot of impressions... so they both get something out of the deal.

It's not like the impressions are really 'extra'. There are a certain amount of people posting at one time, and they will..........never mind, I won't explain it.....

It just cheapens the board. You either see it or you don't.

I read Lensman's post about the # of threads in the past 30 days and being the #1 board so I don't think this can be a problem?
