I still think we should look at what this act means... did we deserve this? I mean come on.... while this is the most powerful board on the planet we may have deserved what we got.
Our arrogant attitude and total disreaguard for smaller boards warrents this kind of act.

It is fine to look at this act but one can only look at it so long and then reach for the remote and see what else is on.

Yes but we deserved this! We have grown to powerful for our own good and need to be put in our place. There are other boards out there that think we are just too arrogant and have no interest in them other than thier users.

We should stp back and ask why this happened. I am sure there are otheres on other boards that agree with me. Stp up and post here... let the GFYalmighty know how you feel to bee looked apon as inferior. Let them know how you feel to be trmpled upon for your useres. Let them know how you feel to be disreguarded because you have no users to take.

I say again... this act may have well been deserved. We are a bastard board and as such we have been treated that way.

Other than a few members here and there saying "fuck other boards", I've never noticed any huge disdain for smaller boards here. Fact is, most long-time members of GFY don't even bother commenting much about anyone else, except for some like me who post on multiple boards. Saying GFY (or Lensman) or the members here might have deserved any kind of attack over that is.....wrong.

In my travels though, I do see on certain other boards, a lot of bashing of GFY. I won't mention any in particular, but they are out there and they know who they are. None of them deserve a ddos attack over it though.

Are you sure that we didn't deserve the ddos attack? I can site example from the late ealy 00's of our disreguard for other boards that could have very well led to this attack. We calaim to be helping other boards when it serves our own interest while leaving out other boards that clearly deserve our help....

Most boards serve themselves and mind their own affairs. Like I said, barring a few random members, most die-hard GFY members could not care less about other boards. So what? There are some staunch supporters on porncity that repeatedly ask "what do you mean 'other boards'?" which tells me that they too are very loyal. Same with a dozen other boards I can name, they all have rules that suit their own, most of them mind their own shit too.

I can't remember the last time someone here singled out one particular board and ridiculed it and it's members, except for one thread regarding the porncity bbs. But I HAVE seen a lot of posts on other boards from people bashing GFY and ridiculing it's members.


Your point is rather immature in my opinion. Why should it be up to GFY, Lensman, or the members here to coddle other boards? Many board owners have come here and spammed their boards, and have been tolerated while doing so. Isn't that enough? You make it sound like if I were to start my own little board that GFY would owe me some help.

DirtyOne I understand what your saying and you may raise some valid points.

But power when misused can meet with fate which is a greater power. This board is a one of kind and has a high "offensive" nature to those that take this place way to serious. Some could target this board due to the perception of gangsta groups and all those subcultures that live here [and all the opposition haters etc].

Its a target when you have such a diversified group of people and cultures under one roof. It is impossible to be politically correct here. I wish brick and mortar were as receptive to offense as webmasters are here, at least there are no gunshots. People get shot for alot less in real life.

As long as you have a "pull" type of community ever now and then somebody will challenge this and "push" back.

PornCity BBS has been around a LOOONG time before GFY, and I do not know much about that board and its actions.

GFY is in a class of its own, and will always be talked about. This place is a Heinz 57 and thats part of its charm. It has every sociological stratified level present. It has all tiers of webmasters from wanna-be to bazillionaires.

GFY can pleasant and teacherous, and therefore not suited for everyone. Typical behavior here is atypical in 90% of other boards, so this place gets a finger point and makes for good cannon fodder.

Who cares what people say, if they don't like GFY stay off the board, end of story.
