Who Needs a Good Digital Camera?
 

I see posts all the time here from people asking about info on a good digital camera. One of the best (and most affordable) on the market now for producing internet content is the Canon G3. I paid $699 for mine a few months ago - I have seen them as low as $649.

Right now they are on sale at Broadway Photo in NY for only $499. If you need a good digital camera, you should take advantage of this great deal. I love mine :thumbsup

Yes they are stick with bh photo also if someone is alot cheaper then everyone else and they are in NYC its a scam.

I use http://www.dealcam.com , a great deal site-- but they don't seem to include any of the shady places.

I have a powershot s50 ...first I wanted a g3 but I've read some reviews on dpreview.com and it seems that it has low-light focus problems...
also s50 has 5 MP, g3 has 4.1MP

I like the Sony ones. Anyone recommend one?

I've never ordered from them but a couple of my friends have. Never had a problem with them???

Street price ranges from about $510 - $700. For the money it offers a lot.

Here's a pic I took at 248x1536 (it goes up to 2832 x 2128 tiff) and reduced the file size 50% The detail is there - give it a moment to display!

This camera is more than that needed for any net stuff, but also comes close to the functionality (manual overrides blah) of an SLR.

what is bad it will only use there batts and if you shoot off location then you damn well better have a shit load of batts ,,, and they are not fucking cheap ether !!!!

Stay away from Broadway Photo! (BWayPhoto.com). I bought my D100 from them and they tried lots of shady ways to screw me. After a week of battling their BS I finally got my camera. (Grey market of course...but I expected that for $1500.)

The only thing I gave in to was buying the Mack 5 year warranty which I'm actually happy about. My mirror locked up after about 40,000 shots and it is getting fixed right now.

B&H is pretty much the only reputable NYC dealer that I can think of....

The G3 is on sale, because Canon released the new G5 a few days ago. I have seen the G5 in a shop yesterday. Looks very nice and solid. Nearly same design like the G3, but better body (not that plastic shit), black and more pixels. The price was 899 Euro.

umm.....i plug my camera into the wall to recharge....what are you talking about?
i use my g2 everyday...and it's battery life kicks ass for me.
