Still having problems here too. :(
Four glorious, fun filled days it's been so far. |

Yeah.. but you get a free month for the problems. weeee!! it cost me so much more than that not to mention the fact that it will take me days to get my sites back together.. |
Well, this 'free month' that you're talking about is news to me. No one has made that offer to me.
And, what makes you think that your business is so much more important than mine, that it's less of a hassle or loss of money to me as well? Any downtime for any webmaster is an issue. |
old backup was a problem but the biggest one was freshbot picking up a 404 instead of my pages that pisses me off the most

You know CD Smith is right. These guys are some of the best peeps in the biz, and have been around for many years. There hosting is some of the best in the biz, great prices, service and tech support. I spoke with Jim yesterday, and the unforeseen issues that started late Saturday night were hardware related on 1 of their main name servers, then escalated to a problem on 1 of their virtual servers. Jim and some techs flew to their data center on red eye flights Friday night and worked round the clock until today. Apparently ALL issues were resolved except some lost data on a virtual servers hard drives and is at a data recovery expert now trying to recover the missing data. This is info was also posted on their site. I think my uptime has been over 1 year without even a burp in my servers. You guys need to lighten up a little, NOBODY can stop a hardware failure, it's what they do to correct the problem after it happens that counts. Techie had all sites that were affected back up and running in a few hours, and from what I gather all sites back, it's just a very few people that are on 1 virtual server that have some missing data bases. For a network as large as theirs that has been up and solid as long as theirs, they deserve a little respect.
This is just my 2 cents for some of the good guy's that have helped so many of us over the years... :thumbsup |
SpeakEasy- Relax you faggot, we all know about suckas and their double identities on boards... don't act so foolish, whiney wayne. :321GFY

blah blah blah.. Say that when it's your sites. And you have been down for 3 days |
Having just returned from Tampa with Jim I can tell you what speakeasy said is correct ... hahaha he must have talked to Jim.
We are expecting word this afternoon from the data recovery service on the status of the data. All that was lost was 1 virtual server. However more protection has been put in place to prevent this from happening again. We have complete faith in the data recovery system of them recovering all user data. As soon as that data is recovered it will be restored this afternoon. As far as techiemedia caring about thier customers as soon as they knew of the problem they had me on the next flight out to Tampa when they knew the scope of the problem along with Jim and other techs. Cost was no object and the only thing I was told by them was do whatever is needed to restore everybody to full as quickly as possible. I am now waiting on the last part of the restore when thats done we have all our techs available to restore everything. |
Doesn't anyone find it odd that ProTechHosting Guy and other people have to fly out to their DC?? TechieMedia has to own up to what happened. They claim 24/7 onsite support yet they have to fly technicians. And we should be grateful that they flew down for their customers?? In truth TechieMedia is just a reseller of canddihosting, so if you want solid hosting use candid before Techie. They don't even use their own AS with BGP, therefore they are a single homed carrier buying from a multi homed carrier, do they even own their own servers? It looks like a beautiful resell job but that's all it is. Yes there are problems with all hosting companies but wasn' t it techie who bashed other hosting companies having problems 5 or 6 months back?? Sites being down for 3 days is unacceptable no matter what the excuse is. I would be concerned about any hosting company that doesn't have knowledgable people within their own company and onsite to handle emergencies. Sounds like TechieMedia relies on JFPdude, and although I give him a lot of credit, he's not a pro. There are simply too many other hosting companies that have people onsite and won't lie about their services, to choose this one or ProTecH Hosting for that matter. ProTechHosting and TechieMedia are simple resellers, just go with their providers or other real hosting companies. That's just my two cents.
