The cost of drinks in area where you live
 

My favorite bar is a hippy bar in town here that is quite relaxing to be at and enjoy and has nice low prices.


standard mixed drinks like my favoirtie 7&7 are $1.75

Bottle of beer like MGD, Bud, Bud Lite etc, $1.75
Imports/Specialty bottles like Labatt's Blue, Heiniken and a few others are $2.25-$2.50 (but not specialty imports like St. Pauli Girl, Beck's, etc. which other bars carry for $2.75+)

Canned beer is usually $1.50 but you can get Hamm's beer for $1 a can.

Taps are usually $1.00 to $1.50 though they have one specialty tap for $2.75

Shots range from $1.25 for generic Scnapps to $1.75-$2.50 for stuff like Dr. McGillicuddy's and Goldschlagger (my fav) and others.

Most other bars in town are .25-.75 higher in price.

Prices here are about the same.

In Vegas theres a place called Cheers thats pretty cool. If you get a Cheers card, it's only 2$ for 24oz Newcastle. It's actually cheaper than buying it at the store.

So far i'm surprised. Most people I know in the biz especially in states like California, Florida, etc say mixed drinks are like $3-5 bucks a pop there and stuff and are shocked by the prices I listed above.

That is fuckin' insanely cheap! Beer and alchohol in Toronto is completely outrageous, for one they are not allowed to have any happy hours, or clubs are not allowed to have nights where there is cheap alchohol or anything. For me a Heineken costs like 6.00 at a club or bar, and mixed drinks, those are about the same.

If you buy domestic, (ewww) then it's like 4.50 - 5.00

you have no idea.... I have paid $7.50 for a single fucking corona beer in a Hollywood club.

Thank goodness they had to cut the drink prices a bit, a few years ago when they made smoking in bars illegal.

But just last week we were paying $5.50 for a single heinekin poured into a fucking plastic picnic cup. It sucked.

Yep... I live in the middle of nowhere in hicks-ville Florida... if I go anywhere a shot or mixed drink is around $5, usually they have $2 "well" specials but it always tastes like ass so why bother. I rarely order anything besides beer mostly because it's so expensive... Once and a while I mix in tequila shots $3-$5 depending on the quality... but I rarely do that unless I'm drunk and stupid.

If you want to talk about beer -- it's really a huge range here... I know where you can get beer for free at a certain time, on Sunday plastic cups of Pabst for $.50... the place I usually drink at has Yeungling for $4.25/pitcher... They have light, regular and black/tan on tap... Usuaully I get the $4.25 black/tan pitchers. That's pretty much my bar of choice...

This other bar I go to which is more "upscale" but some of the more "interesting" girls hang out there... $9 pitchers of Guinness which is a good deal -- and they have $1.50 pints of Old Mill in a can... Not exactly my favorite way to chill over a can of gas-station beer, but just few of those pints and you'll be fucked up nicely...

Around £2 for a pint of draught lager. A bit more expensive for bitter. Dunno about bottles really. Bacardi Breezers and the like are usually around £2 also. Mixed drinks vary hugely from pub to pub. We only have one proper cocktail bar in town and I've never been inside because their cheap prices they advertise on the chalkboard outside are bad enough. Most of the time we buy big bottles from the supermarket and mix our own. Its cheap and you get to listen to the music you want to listen to and no wankers bump in to you when they lurch their way toward the toilets to barf.

if you ever take a trip to Northern California go to chico for the bar scene. You haven't lived till you have. Power hour is where any drink in the bar is .25, go figure.

We drink at this place called the Ship near our studio has $1.75 pints of Labbat and is a Cubbies bar, oh yeah you mentioned drinks. House drinks go for $4.50:glugglug

£2 is about $3.25 now. In the past five years, the pound hasn't gone outside the $1.40 - $1.75 range that I know of.

BTW I live above a disco/bar/Karaoke and I never drink/dance or heaven forbid sing Karaoke ditties.

Its not insane its criminal especially if you're buying for a large group of friends. They rip you off hardcore.
