why do i use a mac?

All the mac users give reasons why they use a mac over a pc.

For me i dont have to deal with viruses, spyware, and the constant security holes of windows.

PowerCum 06-30-2003 10:11 AM

You should say... use mac instead of PC with windows. I have two macs here and 4 PCs, and only one of the PCs has windows and it's only used for games.

I have never been infected by a windows virus, even that I have a quite nice big virus collection here :)

That's because they are so insecure and feel the need to justify the temporary insanity which caused them to buy a mac.

Don't own a MAC but all the high end graphic design companies do, and PC's do not have the graphic abilities MAC do. Great design system for those in this genre.

no HIGH end design companies have SGI's gurl ;-)

and why do you use a mac dude? perhaps you are easily amused and brainwashed by all the Macs you see on the big screen, when in REALITY less than 3% of the people on the web use Macs?

booker 07-01-2003 09:31 AM

The G5 looks hot.. 64-bit dual 2GHz, 1GHz FSB, serial ATA, 8GB SDRAM. Sure, there isn't much out there software wise to take advantage of it, especially the 64bit cpus, but it's only a matter of time.

good less people trying to hack our machines. The script kiddies go after the windows users

Validus 07-01-2003 01:04 PM

Say what you want, I like PCs and Microsoft Windows. I had Win 95, Win NT, Win 2K and now WinXP. I like them, they do have bugs but and no they are not perfect but I have found that I am more efficient on a PC then a mac.

Macs are just, ugh. I am not sure who came up with the idea that a normal mac is a good GFX box. A Dual 3.2 ghz Dell will take a mac any day? and that while style.

i can keep upgrading my pc frequently without spending a fortune, and it does so many thing that it would either be impossible or a pain in the ass to do on a mac

twistyneck 07-01-2003 01:08 PM

Windows crashed one time too many. My Mac has never crashed, not once. It's probably just a matter of time but I suspect it will be a very long time.

my windows xp never crashed either
please tell me this

if you install windows and NOTHING else, will windows crash?
the answer is probably no
the only reason that windows would crash is because of unstable programs, wich mac doesnt have.

now the real question is. do I want to be limited to my programs just so my pc doesnt crash? or is it worth taking the risk of my pc crashing for the HUGE variety of programs and games available on the pc?

Uh, if you don't load any programs then Windows is kind of useless, isn't it?

Program availability turned out not to be a huge issue. That was a major concern for me but it turned out okay. I don't play games so that isn't a factor for me.

buddyjuf 07-01-2003 01:17 PM

exactly!

trust me guys, if the mac could offer the huge selection of software that the pc could, I would switch in a second!

but thats not the case, so right now Im stuck and happy with my kickass PC :thumbsup

could your mac do this?

well Im just saying that the windows as a OS is stable
its the programs that make it unstable

buddyjuf 07-01-2003 01:19 PM

and just for the record?
I think macs are FANTASTIC for designing and video editing.
If I were in those fields, I would be using the macs for sure, because of the speed and the specific software designed for those operations

I agree and XP is a vast improvement over previous versions. Nonetheless it pissed me off one time too many, I just couldn't take it anymore.

macs are computers for women. they come in "cute" little colors and are all idiot proof. if you can't reformat it, how the fuck are you gonna trust it?
