Put down the video camera and pick up the still camera, don't shoot both at the same time, thats just cheap.

we shoot the stills seperately from the video, alot of people don't and the stills suck. Even the gonzo porn studios take shitty stills cuz they don't want to spend the money hiring a stills guy so the guy who is shooting the video does the stills as well and they aren't pro photographers or even decent amateur photographers.

I was trying to give an example of the kind of quality he should aim for in his videos.

I agree, amateur is amateur and pro is pro... if you want "real" looking amateur videos then you can make them lower quality than a pro video. The surfers still love the amateur stuff too :)

The still pictures are what you sell your video with - In a gallery, on the tour page, if your lucky like me - on the Box cover of a few scenes for a movie that some distributor likes of yours. Get yourself a Nikon cool pix 5700 and some WHITE BALLANCED combo video/photo lights and a good 3 chip video camera. Don't tell me you don't have the money, borrow it from a rich uncle and give him a pass to your site - $5,000 investment will make or break your quality and your membership retention.

ok well maybe you just need more BW...when I tried downloading the movies, the transfer rate was 30k/sec ....I just tried again and it was 200k/sec...maybe it was just me

I actually have a decent line not capped. It was probably the line though, it fluctuates.
