Windows Not Loading...

Okay here's the deal.

I'm running windows xp and just went to reboot and all of a sudden Windows wouldn't load.

I chose the option to start at the last known working configurations and everything started up, but if I reboot windows won't load again.

I have not changed anything, added any new hardware or downloaded any software other than spybot...any ideas?

Okay this time it rebooted without fail...but now I'm getting this weird quiver when I mouse over icons.

The screen kind of distorts.

graphics card problem?

make sure the monitor cable is tightly fitted

then check to see if the video card has worked out a little.

that happened to me one time the card had some how worked free a tiny bit

Well that time it didn't load properly...fuck.

I turned it off and it seems the video card is seated properly and the monitor connection is tight.

And it will not load in safe mode.

How old is the HD and power supply?
Assuming your cards are seated properly, video issues can be related to intermitent problems with power supplies. Boot problems usually relate to old HDs, or lessor quality HD manufacturers such as maxtor. It sounds like a HD issue since you are not able to consistently boot in any mode.

Start copying your data to a backup location the next time you get the system booted.

is it a legal copy of xp

I've noticed with Windo$e whenever you have a problem the only way you'll ever FULLY fix it is to backup important files, format your hard drive and reinstall windows.

Microsoft - notorious for writing software that hacks itself.

Even my XBOX crashes way more often than would be reasonably expected from an electronic device...
