What AVS's have gone down so far?

What AVS's have gone down so far?

Which AVSs have gone down and which do you suspect or expect will fall to Visa's shake down?

Have a great Sunday!,

I'm interested in this as well. Was looking to get into AVS right before problems started, not too sure what the current situation is.

not down here, in fact, on Friday we added a second way for surfers to join, significantly increasing your chances for signups. Either method they go with, you still get the $20 per sale.

sexkey is still going strong

NiteRain 06-29-2003 12:39 PM

Is this about the creditcard companies attempt to say that AVS's are like a third party processor? That is getting crazy...

JosephS 06-29-2003 03:37 PM

NiteRain, yes thats what its about. Imagine if indeed Visa makes each webmaster pay $750 to register their sites in each AVS system! We'll have to wait and see how it plays out. I hope it works out well for the AVS owners that post here though.

You will have a problem soon if you don't get rid of the references on your site calling yourself an 'age verification system' since that is no longer permitted. Unless of course you like dealing with the FTC.

If Visa ends up getting their way and classifies all AVS's as IPSP's the shit is really going to hit the fan.

we are not concerned, and I am pretty sure we don't have Age Verification System anywhere on the site, at least the last I looked.

FreeAdultAVS is collapsed as far as I know..
and I think the AVS still has hope for any adult webmaster,
look at AdultsAllowed, they give you Free DVDs to use,
free domain or subdomain hosting limitless, they offer their
members very large selection of stuff (for retantion and
for promoting), they have good sites in their lists and
they're selective about the sites..
DeluxePass is another solution and AdultBouncer is one
of the biggest ones.. Also ProAdult is my #1.. You already know these I know,
I don't believe that such big companies like these
will collapse.. IMHO, Only such small and "careless" companies may fell
in the future..

But you do have this:

"Anyone that does AVS has noticed several of these services come and go. If you are looking for an innovative, webmaster friendly substitute, SexPicturesPass Adult Verification Service has arrived."

Do you think Visa makes a distinction between 'age verification' and 'adult verification'? Visa is saying that a credit card cannot be used as a way to verify age so it doesn't really matter which way you say it you're still not in compliance. The acceptable wording is 'access verification."

But hey, why listen to me, just wait till the FTC tells you. :winkwink:

The FTC? When did they become involved in this discussion?
