Did alittle upgrade big difference for video
Took my video editing hd to a 120 gig wd se, upgraded my amd xp1800 to a 2400 and upgraded my ram from a gig to 1.5 gig. Man does that make a difference. I am thinking of taking the computer totally off line and only use it for ps and video editing. I have a old pentium 500 mhz with 192mb of ram, which should be more than enough for email and surfing. Is it best to have your editing computer off line?

When the cpu is working 100%, network activity has a little impact on the performance. Not too big thou.. just disable the connection when you're processing video

what kind of ram is it?
and why didnt you get a 2500+? that processor ownz |
And why not the 3200+ ? Some people have a tight budget, you know :glugglug

for $89 I believe you could get the 2400+ w/motherboard.. so I hope you didn't pay much more then that.

I got the 2400 because I got fucked 6 months when I got the processor and motherboard updated. THe motherboard is very nice a asus but it limited .So the highest processor my mother board will take is the 2400. It not a matter of money its a matter of I just spend $600 on upgrades not that long ago and the guy I went to fucked me but now I know better. I want to see is video takes off for me, then in 6 months I will buy a monster just for video.
