We need your opinion on how you want to be charged for leased content?

Hello :)

We are about to release a lot of content in plug-in.
We would like to know what would be the best way to charge you guys... do you prefer to be charge a fixed price? per gigs? a mix of both ?

Let us know what would be best for you :thumbsup

you know it would be nice to maybe have one or two different plans to suite different peoples needs. maybe one that charges by the transfer, then another one that is a bulk deal that costs a little more at first but gives you a better over all rate on the content? :2 cents:

Per gig would be different, does any other provider offer this
and if not why not?

What would be your per gig price and what sort of content is it?

We charge in a variety of ways, we have packages, per GB, per transfer and unlimited. I think that having as many options as you can allows you to have more customers, much easier to have them than not. That's my :2 cents:

I agree with Kristin; with streaming products, you need to be able to charge in a variety of ways. We have some customers that buy a fixed block of transfer, then we have clients that pay a per gig price discounting on volume with unlimited usage. The most important thing is to let your customers see live stats so they can monitor the usage.

Hi sir,

Well first of all webmasters want to pay as less as possible :D

No serious, I think it's hard. Advantage of member based is that webmasters know what they have to pay you.

With paying per GB's it's harder for them to calculate the costs upfront. So that's why a lot of webmasters love paying based on logins per 24 hour.

So when you have hourly/daily stats of used BW, ppl would maybe switch to that, otherwise they would stick to per login.

Just my :2 cents:

We do per log in charging too and you are right about letting webmasters see the comparison... especially if one plan offers a better price point at a certain level...

We will have real time stats report for all our customers.
We plan to offer multiple bitrate up to 700kbps and the possibility to select what you want to show to your customers.

What is the average pricing for the various option?
Per gig, per log-in etc etc etc

We are planning to charge a fixed price per month with a certain amount of gigs + charge the over at 4$ per gigs. How does it sound?

sounds good

I like $99/month flat.

You won't get certain companies to pay the overage at $4/GB, some will only pay max $2/GB.

I agree with the stats, customers need to be able to see how much bandwidth, how many surfers visited, everything so they can actually see what they are paying for.
