How Much Is a Nice Place in Czech Reb.?

How much does a sweet house or apartment in the Prague cost? (rent and/or own)

How much does a Yankee need to make a month to live there comfortably? (upper-middle class or high class)

Prague is a great place to be during the summer, beautiful architecture and the women and beer are pretty tasty :thumbsup

I was toying with the idea of moving their myself a while back, the apartments in 'downtown' Prague I was looking at renting were quite expensive compared to what you get here, I think the prices have gone up quite a bit lately becuase Prague is pretty big place now for filming movies.

I had a few urls for apartment rentals websites, I'll see if I can dig them up.

Well compared to the Bay Area where a simple two bedroom condo sells for $500,000, I don't think any other place could give me sticker shock anymore.

It's a bitch to actually try to move to any european country. I think the Czech republic has a limit of 3 months for anyone who isn't working.

If you are working...even if it's just over your computer running your business in the states - you still need to apply for a work permit and a residential permit as well as register with the local police.

http://www.expatriates.com/ has a lot of info

Mind you, if you are european you can dash from country to country as long as they are in the european union...must b nice.

Thank you! I do have an EU passport sitting around somewhere (although the Czech won't be a member for a few years). I was thinking of a place to visit twice a year.
