you could be sued

i would love to see how they plan to do this. a good portion of people just download but do not share their files and if they do search someone's files, isnt that accessing their computer illegally? not all files in a shared folder show up all the time so how do they determine how many songs are on someone's pc?

aren't they going after the people who make files available? i was reading a similar article on cnnfn

I can't wait to see all the posters in this thread. It will be the same exact people that went crazy about Necrohiphop, or whatever the fuck it was.

could be...i just skimmed thru it but still, if i go on there and my file with songs is available (and lots of people dont know how to make that file not shared), then i would potentially be sued.

i mean it wont effect me but some people would truly be innocent.

maybe it will scare people from using p2p. it'll be a good thing.

i can understand the music industries grip. i hate losing a dollar so i can only image what they must be feeling. however, maybe it's just me, but everything as of late feels as if it's being policed. it feels as the noose around our lives is being tightened. again, it may be just the way i feel with everything i have been reading...

True... I think they're pretty f*cking pissed off, as you would be, but I think it's going to be a very long time before the Internet has some universal laws outlawing p2p software, if at all - and while p2p exists, I think some will always use it

i think that was well said and if i may add, if they cant use the current software out there, people will develop another one....just the laws of nature.
